(verify)Methiopropamine (MPA) is a thiophene-based structural analog of methamphetamine originally reported in 1942.[1] It originally appeared for public sale in the UK in December 2010[2][unreliable source?] as a "research chemical". It gained limited popularity as a recreational stimulant due to its lack of euphoria, relative to more common stimulants instead being described as clear headed[3][unreliable source?], a more functional stimulant.
Health risks are totally unknown[contradictory] in any animal due to lack of interest from the pharmaceutical industry and recent introduction to recreational users.

Pharmacological effects
Pharmacological effects include mild euphoria, increased alertness, energy and sexual arousal.[dubious ][citation needed]
Side effects
Reported side effects are quite adverse on higher doses including: increased heart rate, increased sweating, discolouration of extremeties, cardiovascular problems and chest pain.[citation needed]
