Architectural style: Gothic, Romanesque Governing body: Private NRHP Reference#: 82003385[1] Added to NRHP: June 3, 1982 Metropolitan Baptist Church, formerly known as New York Presbyterian Church, is a historic church at 151 W. 128th Street in Harlem, New York, New York. It was originally built and occupied by a Presbyterian congregation. In 1918, the church was acquired by its current occupants, a Baptist congregation. It was built in two stages between 1884 and 1890, and is an asymmetrically massed, limestone church building in a blend of Gothic and Romanesque Revival styles. It is two and one half stories topped by a tremendous slate roof shaped as a partial cone. The front facade features groups of stained glass, Gothic-arched lancet windows at various levels.[2]
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.[1]
