The Got Talent franchise is a British TV format conceived and owned by Simon Cowell's SYCOtv company. A pilot show was made in Britain, hosted by Paul O'Grady, but after O'Grady's split with ITV, the series was postponed, resulting in America's Got Talent - the first full series of the format. It has spawned spin-offs in 39 countries, in what is now referred to as the Got Talent format, similar to that described by FremantleMedia of the Idol format.^{[citation needed]}

The Got Talent franchise is one of the fastest growing international franchises, closing the gap on other successful franchises such as The Weakest Link,The X Factor, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Dancing with the Stars and Idol franchises, all of which also originated in the United Kingdom.^[1]

The Got Talent franchise was a British invention, with comedian and talk show host Paul O'Grady producing a pilot for ITV. O'Grady left the network after disputes with ITV, resulting in Simon Cowell, creator of the show, moving the concept to America while he and ITV searched for a new show host.

Due to these issues, the Got Talent franchise ended up debuting first on the NBC network in the United States on 21 June 2006, with judges David Hasselhoff, Brandy Norwood, and Piers Morgan. The show's original series was hosted by Regis Philbin. Most recently, the judging panel consists of Howie Mandel, Sharon Osbourne, along with Morgan, and is hosted by Nick Cannon. The grand prize on America's Got Talent is $1 million, and, since season 3, a chance to headline a show on the Las Vegas Strip. America's Got Talent proved extremely successful for NBC, pulling in high ratings in both total viewers and the younger 18-49 demographic. The show's initial success in America is credited with the eventual launch of the British series, and the overall global launch of the Got Talent franchise.

ITV eventually debuted Britain's Got Talent on 9 June 2007 with Cowell, Morgan and Amanda Holden as judges, and Ant & Dec as hosts of the show. Morgan stepped down after series 4 due to commitments hosting Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN. For series 5, Cowell only attended the live shows as he was busy launching The X Factor in America, so Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff joined the panel with Holden. McIntyre confirmed that he would not return for The top prize is at least £100,000, and a performance at the Royal Variety Show in front Queen Elizabeth II, and Prince Charles.

Arab world

Arabs Got Talent debuted on 14 January 2011 on MBC4. The show proved very successful and very popular in the Arab world. The judges are Najwa Karam, Amr Adeeb and Ali Jaber. The live shows started on 25 February 2011. The winner of the first series was the Egyptian poet Amro Qotamesh (in Arabic عمرو قطامش) Season 2 will start in 2012.

Argentina

The Argentine version called Talento Argentino (Argentine Talent) debuted on Sunday 27 July 2008 on the Telefé network. Judges are Cesar 'Kike' Teruel, Maximiliano Guerra and Catherine Fulop, and the host is Mariano Peluffo. The prize is $100,000. The first season was won by 25-year-old amateur humorist Martín Bustos. The second season started on 23 July 2009. A third season started on 23 October 2010.

Australia

In February 2007, Australia's Got Talent debuted on Seven Network.^[8] Grant Denyer is the host, with Dannii Minogue, Red Symons and Tom Burlinson judging the performances. As of the fourth season the judging panel has changed with the removal of Red Symons and Tom Burlinson. The two new judges are Kyle Sandilands and Brian McFadden. The prize is A$250,000 (Jul 2007, approximately £164,000; US$274,000). 12-year-old country singer Bonnie Anderson was the first winner of the grand prize. The second season began airing from 29 April 2008 with 16-year-old guitarist Smokin' Joe Robinson as the winner of the grand prize. A third season, which aired on Wednesday nights, began on 4 February 2009 with 15-year-old opera singer Mark Vincent as the winner of the grand prize. The fourth season began on 13 April 2010, airing on Tuesday nights, which saw Sydney dance group Justice Crew as the winners of the grand prize.

Belgium

The Belgian version called Supertalent in Vlaanderen.^[9] (Supertalent in Flanders) aired on VT4. It was hosted by the late Dré Steemans ("Felice", who also hosted the Belgian version of Deal or No Deal. Deceased in October 2009.) and Ann van Elsen (2002 Miss Belgium). On the jury were Paul Jambers, Martine Prenen, and Gert Verhulst. The prize €50,000 was won by female singing trio Triple E.

Chile

The Chilean version called Talento Chileno (Chilean Talent), the Judges are Antonio Vodanovic, Francisca García-Huidobro, Rodrigo Díaz, and the host is Julián Elfenbein. The first season began on 27 September 2010 and finished in 13 December 2010 on Chilevisión. The winner of the first series was the singer Camila Silva. The seacond season is expected to debut on May 2011.

China

In April 2010, SMG announced a licensed spin-off show of the Britain's got talent, 中国达人秀 (English: China's Got Talent). The show started airing on DragonTV on 25 June 2010, the pre-audition will not be aired on the network.^[10] but the pre-audition can be seen on the official website. The audition began on 25 July 2010. Shanghainese stand-up comedian Zhou Libo, Taiwanese singer-actress Annie Yi and mainland pop composer Gao Xiaosong will make up the jury panel for the final rounds of "China's Got Talent."^[11] The winner will get a performing contract with Fremantle Media and Sony Music Entertainment. He or she also has the chance to perform at Las Vegas for three months and be invited on Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai's world tour concert as a guest performer.^[12] First season's winner was awarded to an armless pianist, Liu Wei. Croatia

The Croatian version called Supertalent aired on Nova TV in Fall 2009. Actors Rene Bitorajac and Igor Mešin host the show. Judges are: an actor Enis Bešlagić, singer Nina Badrić and journalist Dubravko Merlić. 15-year-old twirler Tihomir Bendelja won first Croatian Got Talent and also he got 200.000 kuna's. Singer Monica Rogić was second, and the dance group Atomic Dance Factory was third. The new season of the show started in September 2010 and was won by the singer Viktorija Novosel. Accordion player Aleksandar Olujić finished second, and the dog trainer Maja Terzić and her dog Nessa finished third.

Czech Republic / Slovakia

TV Nova and TV Markíza (the biggest private players on the Czech and Slovak TV markets and both owned by CME) missed its chance to obtain the license from FremantleMedia. Both TV stations immediately came up with the very same concept of their own. They called it Talentmania and it was broadcast on the same day as original Got Talent show during season one. The original licence for Got Talent show got TV Prima and TV JOJ (second biggest TVs on Czech and Slovak TV markets). First season of the show called Česko Slovensko má talent (Czecho-slovakia Got Talent) started to air on 29th August 2010 with hosts Martin Pyco Rausch and Jakub Prachař, the jury consisted of Jan Kraus (also judge of Slovakia's Got Talent in 2008), Lucie Bílá and Jaro Slávik. Main prize was contract for a headline performance show in Las Vegas and amount of 100'000 € (around 2'500'000 CZK). Due to a great success, the show was renewed for its second season which will be aired in 2011. Main prize, the hosts and judges remain with one exception - Jan Kraus was replaced by Martin Dejdar.

Denmark

In the fall of 2008, Denmark's Got Talent (named Talent 08, followed by Talent 09 in 14 August 2009) aired on the Danish broadcast corporation, Danmark's Radio's DR1. Castings ran April through June, and auditions were taped in late June. Martin Hall, Peter Aalbæk Jensen and Julie Steincke the judges.^[13] Due to the origin of the name of the show, it was renamed into "Talent 2008", supposedly to make it easier to communicate in the danish language. Felix Schmidt and Mikkel Herforth are the hosts.^[14] The first programme aired on 15 August and the live semi finals commenced on 26 September with the grand final on 24 October where male popping dance duo Jeppe & Nick also known as Robotdrengene won the top prize of DKK250,000.

For the second season in 2009 the judges were changed to Hella Joof, Jokeren (a.k.a. Jesper Dahl) and Nikolaj Koppel.For the first time, a rapper called Kale Pimp win a got talent show in history.

Finland

Finland started its version of the show in autumn 2007. The show is called Talent Suomi (Talent Finland) and aired on Nelonen. Susanna Laine and Martti Vannas were the hosts. Judges were movie director Timo Koivusalo, professional dancer Sami Saikkonen and Finnish Suosikki-magazine former chief director, Katja Ståhl. The main prize was €30,000. 18-year-old beatboxer Aleksi Vähäpassi was the first winner of the grand prize. The second season started in autumn 2009. The show kept its name and aired in same channel. This season the show was hosted by Jarkko Valtee and Osku Heiskanen. Actress Jaana Saarinen replaced Timo Koivusalo as a judge. The main prize was €30,000. Second season's winner was "music-pantomimic" Miikka Mäkelä.

France

On 2 November 2006, M6 debuted their adaptation of the show, named Incroyable Talent (Incredible Talent).^[15] Alessandra Sublet is the host and Jean Piere Den Bois (Agent), Sophie Edelstein (Artistic director for Circus Pinder) and Gilbert Rozon (A Canadian theatrical producer) were the judges. The €150,000 top prize (July 2007, approximately US$205,000) was won by 28-year-old popper/b-boy Salah Benlemqawanssa. The second season was won by 27-year-old b-boy Junior. In the second season, ballet dancer Patrick Dupont replaced Jean Piere Den Bois as one of the judges. The third season aired on October–November 2008 and was won by 23-year-old fire artist Alex. The fourth season, which is actually airing, has been renamed "La France a un incroyable talent". Judges Sophie Edelstein and Patrick Dupont have been replaced by actress Valérie Stroh and humorist Smaïn respectively. The prize was won by Les Echos-Liés, an humoristic breakdance group. On the fifth season, Smaïn was replaced by the singer Dave.

For the new season 2007/2008 RTL Television, one of the main German TV stations, announced Das Supertalent (The Supertalent). The prize is €100,000. The show is presented by Marco Schreyl, who is also the host of Deutschland sucht den Superstar - the German version of Pop Idol. The first jury consisted of Dieter Bohlen (also a judge on Deutschland sucht den Superstar), comedian Ruth Moschner, and circus director André Sarrasani. RTL Television is the main broadcasting arm of RTL Group, which also owns the "Got Talent" production company FremantleMedia. 19-year-old opera singer Ricardo Marinello was the first winner of the grand prize. The second season started on 18 October 2008, and saw Sylvie van der Vaart (a Dutch TV presenter and wife of footballer Rafael van der Vaart) and Bruce Darnell (an American model and choreographer who also judges Germany's Next Topmodel) join Bohlen in the judging panel and Daniel Hartwich became Schreyl's co-host. The winner of the second season was 44-year-old harmonica player Michael Hirte. The third season was aired from 16 October 2009 to 20 December 2009 with 11 Shows every Saturday. The Winner of the third season was Ivo Antony and his dog Primadonna. The castings for the fourth season will start in Spring 2010. The first episode will be screed on 24 September.

Greece

Ellada Eheis Talento (Greek: Ελλάδα Έχεις Ταλέντο; English: Greece's Got Talent) premiered on 23 March 2007 on ANT1. The first season was hosted by actress and television presenter Sophia Aliberti, and judged by Greek show business personalities Ilias Psinakis, Vaggelis Perris and Matthildi Maggira. The second season and third seasons were hosted by television presenter Christos Ferentinos.

Hungary

Csillag Születik premiered on 20 October 2007, at same time as the German counterpart Das Supertalent did, on the RTL group's Hungarian channel, RTL Klub. The first season's grand prize, 12 million Hungarian Forints, was won by Utasi Árpád, a 10 years old Serbian-Hungarian boy who told tales in a humorous manner. The show went on a break for the 2008 season, returning only on 10 October 2009 with a new line-up of judges.

India

The Indian version of the show called India's Got Talent started in Mid 2009 on India's hit TV Channel Colors. The panel of three judges consists of director Shekhar Kapoor, actress Kirron Kher, and actress Sonali Bendre. The show has been won by Prince Dance Group - a dance group consisting of construction workers from the state of Orissa. The three judges for India's Got Talent season 3 were Sajid Naddiawala, Kirron Kher and Sonali Bendre. The Season 2 was won by Shillong Chamber Choir, based in Shillong, in the state of Meghalaya.

Indonesia

"Indonesia's Got Talent" first aired on Indosiar on 23 July 2010. The judges are Vina Panduwinata, Anjasmara, and Ria Irawan and the hosts are Tora Sudiro and Vincent Rompies. The prize is Rp100.000.000 and a chance to compete with the other winners of the Got Talent series in World's Got Talent. This show has ended their episodes on 26 December 2010 with Vania Larissa, 15 y.o Opera Singer is the winner.

Italy

The Italian version of the show called Italia's Got Talent is airing on Canale 5 between 12 December 2009 and 17 May 2010.It is hosted by Simone Annichiarico and Geppi Cucciari. The judges are the host of Chi vuol essere milionario? (Who Wants to be a Millionaire?) Gerry Scotti, Maria De Filippi and Rudy Zerbi.

Netherlands

A Dutch version called Holland's Got Talent, started on SBS 6 during 2008. The grand prize was €100,000. It was hosted by Gerard Joling with Henkjan Smits (who also judged Idols and X Factor), Patricia Paay and Robert Ronday (manager of Circus Herman Renz) as the judges. 14-year-old contortionist, aerial acrobat and rhythmic gymnast Daniëlle Bubberman was the first winner of the grand prize. The second season started on 21 March 2009 with 12-year-old singer and guitarist Tessa Kersten as the winner. The show changed from channel in 2010, now it airs on RTL 4. Robert ten Brink became the new host and Gordon Heuckeroth (who also judged Idols and X Factor) and Dan Karaty (who also judge the Dutch So You Think You Can Dance) were new judges.

New Zealand

In March 2008, local broadcaster of America's Got Talent Prime Television announced that it would be launching a local version of the show. New Zealand's Got Talent. Paul Ellis (who also judges NZ Idol), The judges are Miriama Smith (actress and participant from Dancing with the Stars) and Richard Driver (the host of Radio with Pictures) Andrew Mulligan (the host of The Crowd Goes Wild) and Jason Reeves (radio host of Classic Hits FM) are the hosts. It has the top prize of NZ$100,000. The first episode went on air on 8 September. The live semi finals started airing on 29 September with the results show on 30 September. On 28 October a 16-year-old dancer named Chaz Cummings won the $100,000 prize. TMC (That Mean Crew) - also a dance act, were the runner ups.

Norway

TV 2's version is Norske Talenter (Norwegian Talents). The show started on 22 February 2008. It was hosted by Marte Stokstad (from Idol) and Sturla Berg-Johansen (from Deal or No Deal). The jury consisted of Mia Gundersen (actress), Jan-Fredrik Karlsen (judge from Idol) and stand-up comedian Thomas Giertsen. The prize of 500,000 Norwegian kroner plus a scholarship (150,000 NOK) was won by 16-year-old singer Erlend Bratland in the first season. The second season which began airing on 13 February 2009, saw Pia Lykke replace Stokstad as host and male hip hop dance quartet Quick won the grand prize.

Philippines

ABS-CBN franchised the Philippine version of the international talent show series "Got Talent"^[16] and called "Pilipinas Got Talent".^[17] Hosted by Luis Manzano and Billy Joe Crawford. It started airing teasers on October 2009.^[18] The jury includes the following: comedienne and actress Ai Ai delas Alas(Comedy Queen), TV host Kris Aquino(Queen of all Media) and former ABS-CBN Executive Frederico "FMG" Garcia (One of the Board Members of ABS-CBN).

Similar to other Got Talent series, the Philippine version of the talent show will also feature singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers from all ages.

It started to air on 20 February 2010 and it airs every Saturday and Sunday on ABS-CBN. Season One ended on 13 June 2010 with 16-year-old singer Jovit Baldivino crowned the winner.

Season 2 started to air on 26 February 2011. Marcelito Pomoy was crowned winner of his talent of singing with a female voice.

Season 3 began airing on 9 July 2011.

The up coming season that was promised was the Season 4.

Poland

The Polish version of the show is called Mam Talent! (I've Got Talent!) and premiered on 13 September 2008 on TVN. The jury features Malgorzata Foremniak (Polish actress), Agnieszka Chylińska (rock singer) and Robert Kozyra (music critic, journalist, recently - actor). Historically, the jury sits Kuba Wojewódzki (controversial showman). The hosts are Marcin Prokop (a judge from Idol 2004) and Szymon Hołownia (a journalist and columnist).

The first season: The main prize is €100,000. There is also a second prize of PLN100.000. The first, live semi-final shows took place on 18 October 2008. The top prize €100,000 was won by acrobatic duet called Melkart Ball: 31-year-old Jacek Wyskup and 28-year-old Bartłomiej Pankau. Their music was composed by Marcin Pawłowski - seventeen years old music producer. The second prize was won by 11-year-old singer Klaudia Kulawik. The third was AudioFeels - eight-performing vocal music in the style of Vocal Play.

The second season: The main prize is PLN300,000. The first, live semi-final shows took place on 5 December 2009. The top prize was won by 27-year-old accordionist Marcin Wyrostek. The second were 15-year-old singers Legun Brothers (twins), and the third was Filipino Alexander Martinez (who lives in Poland 12 years, also singer). He received PLN5,000 and trip to Philippines with his wife and daughter.

The third season: The main prize is PLN300,000. The last, final show took place on 27 November 2010. All three winers were singers. The top prize was won by 12-year-old Magdalena Welc. The second was Kamil Bednarek, and the third was Piotr Lisiecki. Sabina Jeszka, also singer, received the special prize - PLN 100,000.

On 28 January 2007, Aqui Há Talento (There's Talent Here) premiered on public channel RTP1, of RTP, hosted by Sílvia Alberto (former hostess of the Pop Idol and Strictly Come Dancing Portuguese spinoffs) and judged by actors Joaquim Monchique and Sílvia Rizzo and producer Paulo Dias. The top prize €75,000 was won by breakdancing group Abstractin'. Now, there are on SIC (channel n. 3) other version: Portugal Tem Talento (Portugal Got Talent), hosted by Bárbara Guimarães

Russia

Минута славы (A Minute of Fame) premiered on 17 February 2007 on Channel 1, the most watched Russian channel. There are also three judges and X buzzers (instead of Xs, the - symbol is used), and is hosted by Garik Martirosyan (a comedian originally from Armenia). The judges are Iosif Kobzon (a Russian singer), Tatyana Tolstaya (a Russian author), and Alexander Maslyakov (host of KVN, the Russian humor show). There are also semifinals and finals. The prize 1,000,000 rubles (Jul 2007, approximately US$39,000) was won by 14-year-old piano accordionist Maskim Tokaev. The second season was won by 22-year-old acrobat Dmitry Bulkin. The third season aired on 13 September 2008 and was won by circus act Grace. The 4th season started on 4 September 2009 with new hosts: Aleksandr Oleshko and Ville Haapasalo. Tatyana Tolstaya was replaced by Leonid Parfyonov and the 3rd judge is changeable. The prize has grown to 10,000,000 rubles (~315,000$).

Romania

The Romanian version of the show, Românii au talent (Romanians got talent), premiered on Pro TV on 18 February 2011 and is hosted by Smiley (local singer) and Pavel Bartoș (local actor). The judges are Andra (singer and TV hostess), Andi Moisescu (TV producer and presenter) and Mihai Petre (dancer, choreographer, actor and jury member of the local version of Dancing with the stars). The top prize of €120,000 was won by Adrian Tutu, a young rapper.

Serbia

The Serbian version of the show is called Ja imam talenat! (I've Got Talent!). The hosts are Ivana Bajić and Vladimir Aleksić while the jury members are: conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra and pianist - Ivan Tasovac, composer and music producer - Aleksandar Milić Mili and finally, theater and television actress Danica Maksimović.
The first season began in September 2009, and was broadcast on RTV Pink. The show was won by a trio of music players: violinists Darko and Sandra Piler and accordion player Danijel Piler. The second season was broadcast by Serbian public broadcaster, RTS, and started in April 2011.^[19] Winners of the second series are two deaf dancers: Milica and Nenad. The date of the auditions for the third series are yet to be announced.

Slovakia

The Slovakian version called Slovensko má Talent^[20] (Slovakia's Got Talent) began on Markíza on 21 September 2008. Maroš Kramár and Barbora Rakovská were the hosts of the show. The jury consisted of Jan Kraus (Czech comedian and actor), Adela Banášová (Slovakian radio and TV moderator, and host of Slovensko hľadá SuperStar), and Palo Habera (who was also one of the judges on Slovensko hľadá SuperStar and is leader of the rock band TEAM). Announced on 8 December, the winner of €100,000 (3 million Slovakian crowns) was The Old School Brothers, who were actually a group of 5 boys and a girl. Slovakia is the first country with a group winning the competition.

Slovenia

The Slovenian version called Slovenija ima talent (Slovenia's Got Talent), has begun on POP TV in Spring 2010. The auditions will begin on 16 January in ten biggest cities in the country. The producers of the show will choose the best talents of all and give them the chance to try out in the show for the title of the first most talented Slovenian. The judges are Brane Kastelic, Lucienne Lončina and Branko Čakarmiš, Hosts are Vid Valič and Peter Poles. Lina Kuduzović, a 7-year-old singer won the competition with a cover of "The Power of Love" from Jennifer Page. Maja Keuc, who was second, won the national selection for Eurovision song contest 2011 and will present Slovenia in Germany with song "No one". More on [3]

South Africa

The South African version of the show is called SA's Got Talent and started on 1 October 2009. The three judges who will be putting contestants through their paces are veteran radio and media personality Shado Twala, Idols judge Randall Abrahams, and Ian von Memerty, of Strictly Come Dancing fame. The hosts are radio personalities, Rob van Vuuren and Anele Mdoda. The top prize money is R250,000.

South Korea

Korea's Got Talent premiered on 4 July 2011 on tvN Asia.^[21] It was won by dancer Joo Ming-Jong.

Spain

Cuatro in Spain picked up the rights to the Tienes Talento (You Have Talent) format. It premiered on 25 January 2008, in Primetime.^[22] It was hosted by Nuria Roca (who also hosted Factor X) and Eduardo Aldán (actor and TV host) and the judges were Natalia Millán (actress, singer & dancer), Miqui Puig (singer, DJ and judge also on Factor X) and Josep Vicent (Artistic director, specialized in musical creations and performances). The top prize of €150,000 was won by 16-year-old flamenco singer Salva Rodriguez.

Controversially, Telecinco launched a near-identical show called Tú sí que vales ('You're worth it'), sparking a war of words between the two stations. It remains unclear whether Cuatro, who own the rights to the official format in Spain, will take legal action.

Sweden

The Swedish version called Talang 2007 (Talent 2007) aired on TV4. The host was Peppe Eng. The jury was Bert Karlsson, Hanna Hedlund and Tobbe Blom. The prize 1,000,000 Swedish kronor (Jul 2007, approximately £73,000; US$148,000; A$174,000) was won by Zillah & Totte featuring 18-year-old ventriloquist Cecilia Andrén and her puppet monkey Totte. Talang 2008 was won by the 10-year-old singer Zara Larsson . Sofia Wistam replaced Hanna Hedlund as the female judge and Kodjo Akolor became Peppe Eng's sidekick. Talang 2009 saw Tobbe Blom move from judging duties to hosting duties. He hosted alongside Swedish-Finnish multi-platinum selling recording artist, singer, musician, songwriter, actor, and comedian Markoolio. Eurovision Song Contest 1999 winner Charlotte Perrelli replaced Sofia Wistam as the female judge and Johan Pråmell replaced Blom as one of the two male judges. It started airing on 3 April with 30-year-old magician Charlie Caper winning series 3 with 12-year-old pianist David Movsesian as the runner up. Caper is the first magician anywhere to win.

Switzerland

Die grössten Schweizer Talente (Switzerland's Biggest Talent) premiered on 29 January 2011 on German-speaking channel SF1. The show is hosted by Sven Epiney and Andrea Jansen. The judges are DJ Bobo (singer), Christa Rigozzi (former Miss Switzerland) and Roman Kilchsperger.

Thailand

Thailand's Got Talent premiered on 6 March 2011 on channel 3 and is the fifth country in Asia to license the show. The three judges Nirut Sirijanya, Benz Pomchita Na Songkla, and Pinyo Rutham join hosts Krit Sriphumset and Nake-Ketusepswasdi Palakwong na Ayudhaya.

Ukraine

Україна має талант (Ukraine's Got Talent) premiered on 3 April 2009 on STB. The show is hosted by Oksana Marchenko. The three judges are Vlad Yama (Ukrainian dancer), Slava Frolova (showmaker and businesslady, also owner of trademark "Арбуз"/"Watermellon"), and Igor Kondratyuk (scientist, showman and producer ). The prize of 1,000,000 Ukrainian hryvnia (April 2009, approximately US$125,000) was won by 25-year-old sand animation artist Kseniya Simonova, and 26-year-old songstress Olena Kovtun in second season. In June 2006, America's Got Talent debuted on NBC. The first season was hosted by Regis Philbin, and had Piers Morgan, Brandy Norwood and David Hasselhoff on the panel. Since then, Norwood and Hasselhoff have both stepped down, with Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel replacing both on the panel, respectively. After Philbin stepped down after 2006, Jerry Springer hosted the show from 2007 to 2008. Nick Cannon has been hosting the show since 2009.

The American version's grand prize is $1 million, and, since Season 3, a chance to headline a show on the Las Vegas Strip.

A Spanish language version entitled Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento (I Have Talent, Much Talent) was started in 2010 on Estrella TV.

World

World's Got Talent is an upcoming talent television show that puts 25 winners from various Got Talent series to compete against each other. From there, one of them will be crowned the winner of The World's greatest Talent and take home a million dollar prize. The series will be hosted by Piers Morgan, who is a judge on both the American and UK series. The screening date is currently unknown. It is launched by Simon Cowell.

There will be six judges (three male and three female) on the World's Got Talent judging panel; two each respectively from the American, Australian and British versions of the series.

Brazil

Rede Record will be airing a Got Talent show between January and March 2012. Not is confirmed yet since it had been just closed the deal with the producer. Since August 2009 SBT has been airing Qual é o Seu Talento? (What's Your Talent?) a similar talent show in which aims to give a prize of BRL 200,000 to the most talented contestant. In the end of 2010 FremantleMedia first accused the broadcaster of plagiarism of Idol series once it does not has anything to do with the format at issue, - then there was a new accusation of plagiarism of Got Talent series, and in July 2011 FremantleMedia gained the dispute in the Justice. The program will be aired until the end of the current season, but SBT will soon appeal for the Brazilian Justice claiming that the format is actually a modern version of Show de Calouros which was a very popular and famous show in the 70's created by SBT Network owner and host Silvio Santos. Rede Record is also being accused by some fans of Qual é o Seu Talento? of supporting FremantleMedia in the accusation once the show has been giving good ratings to SBT.

Hungary

The Hungarian version of the show called Csillag születik (A Star Will Be Born) started at 3 November 2007 and is broadcast on RTL Klub. The two presenters of the show are the same as the Hungarian version of Strictly Come Dancing. The jury contains a pop singer, a Dancing with the Stars professional dancer, a fashion designer and a talk show host. The prize 12,000,000 Ft (it is €48,000/$66,000) and a new Fiat 500 was won by 14-year-old comedian Utasi Arpad.

Indonesia

On January 2010, Indosiar officially announced that they will hold Indonesia's Got Talent. Unfortunately, Trans TV had already held "Indonesia Mencari Bakat" in which that show has nothing to do with Got Talent version. "Indonesia Mencari Bakat" would be held earlier than "Indonesia's Got Talent" and made people be deceived into thinking that Indonesia Mencari Bakat is a Got Talent series in Indonesian version. Indosiar officially bought the rights to broadcast Got Talent, and "Trans TV" just create a show similar with Got Talent.

Ireland

Between 2009 and 2011 RTÉ One broadcasted The All Ireland Talent Show. It was presented by Gráinne Seoige and produced by Tyrone Productions. The judges for the first two seasons were Boyzone's Shane Lynch, TV presenter Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh, Weatherman Daithí Ó Sé, TV presenter John Creedon and Eurovision Song Contest winner Dana. For the final season Shane Lynch resigned and was replaced by Amanda Brunker. The show saw five regions of Ireland competing against each other: Ulster, Dublin, Munster, Connacht, and Leinster. The show received over 530,000 viewers on the opening night, and the second show having over 600,000 viewers. The winning act who received €50,000 was traditional group The Mullkerrins.The show returned for a second series in 2010 in which Chloe Coyle from Castlederg in County Tyrone won the series and was awarded €50,000. The winner of the third and final season was Daniel Furlong. The All Ireland Talent Show had no connection to the Got Talent brand and is an independent production by RTE.

Lebanon

LBC will soon host a Got Talent show; the project is still in the casting stage.

Mexico

¿Quien Tiene Estrella? (Who Is The Star?) It is hosted by Omar Fierro and Mauricio Mancera and the judges are Raul Quintanilla, Pedro Sola and Karina. Winner of the first series in 2007 is a singer named Jorge Guerrero.

Slovenia

Slovenija ima talent (Slovenia's Got Talent) will be airing on POP TV in the beginning of 2010. First auditions will be held in January 2010 with the TV show following soon after that. The winning act will receive €50,000.
