It lies in the Collegiate Peaks, in the central part of the Sawatch Range, just west of the Arkansas River. It lies approximately 1.2 mi (1.9 km) east-northeast of the slightly higher Mount Belford. For this reason it is usually climbed in combination with Mount Belford.[3]
Mount Oxford is located within the San Isabel National Forest.
