History
The 375-foot-tall, 33-story building was designed in a Spanish Baroque and Art Deco style by the architectural firm of Ritter and Shay. It was constructed as a luxury hotel in 1928 and opened its doors in 1929.
The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It was added to the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places on October 6, 1977 and February 8, 1995.
In 1998, the building was extensively renovated and converted to condominiums.
