The Northwest Washington Fair is the only fair located in Whatcom County. The fair happens annually in August. The Northwest Washington Fair is located in Lynden, Washington.

The fair brings more than 200,000 people to the area and makes over 1.6 million dollars.[1] This triples the population of Lynden for each day of the fair. The fair is always Monday through Saturday in August. Monday is always the Demolition Derby with various performers the rest of the week at the fair's large Grandstands. Brad Paisley has performed in years passed along with Terri Clark, Clay Walker, George Canyon, and the Bill Gather Vocal Band along with many other performers and shows over the years. There is also a small stage featuring more local performers.

Also the fair features a large display of FFA and 4-H animals and other animal exhibits. With the farm heritage of Lynden the animals are a huge highlight of the fair with a 46,000 sq ft (4,300 m2) barn showcasing all types of animals, there is also a large double wide cattle barn and countless horse barns. The fair features horse shows daily. Also there are countless animal contests and shows in the smaller barns.

The fair also features a large carnival along with a smaller kids carnival. The fair has a large array of buildings for solicitors to set up their temporary shops. There are also spots to showcase homemade quilts, photographs, collections and other items.

The fair celebrates it's 100th anniversary in August 2010, and is selling a DVD and book to commemerate the event. The fair also held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new horse arena. [2]
