Cholecystostomy Intervention ICD-9-CM 51.02, 51.03 MeSH D002767 A cholecystostomy is a procedure where a stoma (medicine) is created in the gallbladder, which can facilitate placement of a tube for drainage.
It is sometimes used in cases of cholecystitis where the patient is ill, and there is a need to delay or defer cholecystectomy.[1]
