Chanchal II (community development block) (Bengali: চাঁচল II সমষ্টি উন্নয়ন ব্লক) is an administrative division in Chanchal subdivision of Malda district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Kharba police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Malatipur.[1]

Bhakri, a constituent panchayat of Chanchal II block, is located at 25°23′12″N 87°59′32″E / 25.3865800°N 87.9921600°E / 25.3865800; 87.9921600.

Chanchal II community development block has an area of 205.22 sq km.[2]

Gram panchayats of Chanchal II block/ panchayat samiti are:Bhakri, Malatipur, Gourhand, Chandrapara, Jalalpur, Kshempur and Dhangara Bisanpur.[3]

Demographics

As per 2001 census, Chanchal II block has a total population of 165,168 out of which 84,173 were males and 80,995 were females. Chanchal II block registered a population growth of 24.47 per cent during the 1991-2001 decade.[4] Decadal growth in West Bengal was 17.84 per cent.[5]
