Dubrajpur (Bengali: দুবরাজপুর) is a town and a municipality in Suri Sadar subdivision of Birbhum District in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Geography

Dubrajpur is located at 23°48′N 87°23′E / 23.8°N 87.38°E / 23.8; 87.38.^[1] It has an average elevation of 77 metres (252 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001^[update] India census,^[2] Dubrajpur had a population of 32,752. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Dubrajpur has an average literacy rate of 56%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 65% and, female literacy is 46%. In Dubrajpur, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Transport

Dubrajpur is 35 km from Andal and 19 km from Suri on the Ondal-Sainthia line of Eastern Railway.^[3] It is on Panagarh–Morgram Highway.
