Dinhata II (community development block) (Bengali: দিনহাটা II সমষ্টি উন্নয়ন ব্লক) is an administrative division in Dinhata subdivision of Cooch Behar district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Dinhata police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Sahebganj.^[1][2]

Geography

Sahebganj, one of the constituenct panchayats of the block, is located at 26°07′23″N 89°36′52″E / 26.1230700°N 89.6143800°E / 26.1230700; 89.6143800.

Dinhata II community development block has an area of 103.30  km².^[2]

Demographics

As per 2001 census, Dinhata II block had a total population of 205,391, out of which 104,443 were males and 100,948 were females. Dinhata II block registered a population growth of 9.48 per cent during the 1991-2001 decade. Decadal growth for the district was 14.15 per cent.^[2]Decadal growth in West Bengal was 17.84 per cent.^[4]

Lliteracy

Dinhata II block had a literacy rate of 66.57 per cent - males 76.40 per cent and females 56.37 per cent.^[3]
