Highway 25Waterways Park Lake Website Town of Coalhurst Coalhurst (originally named Bridgend) is a town in southern Alberta, Canada. It is located on the Crowsnest Highway, 15 km (9.3 mi) northwest of Lethbridge. It used to be a mining community.
Around 1930, a large fire broke out in Coalhurst and cost the town about $35,000. No one was injured in the fire.

Demographics
The population of the Town of Coalhurst according to its 2010 municipal census is 1,953,[3] a 7.9% increase over its 2009 municipal census population of 1,810.[4]
In 2006, Coalhurst had a population of 1,523 living in 542 dwellings, a 3.2% increase from 2001. The town has a land area of 1.64 km2 (0.63 sq mi) and a population density of 928.8 /km2 (2,406 /sq mi).[2]
