The following is a list of county routes in Erie County, New York from Routes 1 to 32. Most of the routes act as primary roads in the less developed areas and also serve to interconnect the various villages and hamlets of the county. Routes 1 to 32 make up over 70 miles (110 km) of roads throughout Erie County. The longest is Route 27, which is 10.2 miles (16.4 km) long. Municipalities served include the cities of Buffalo and Tonawanda, and the villages of Angola, Evans, East Aurora and Depew.

Route 1

County Route 1
Location:	Alden
Length:	3.31 mi[1][2] (5.33 km)

County Route 1 (CR 1) is a 3.30-mile (5.31 km) long connector highway in the town of Alden. The road starts at U.S. Route 20 in the village of Alden, near the former northern terminus of NY 239. The highway progresses northward, passing far eastward of the Alden Town Park along Crittenden Road. The highway passes residential homes for several blocks, and at the intersection with Park Street, the highway passes a large complex. At the intersection with Baxter Avenue, CR 1 begins to enter a less developed area. After the intersection with Cherry Tree Lane, CR 1 passes along a stretch of forests. The highway continues northward, crossing Ellicott Creek and continuing through the lowlands of Erie County. After a while, the highway passes near the Kis-N-Greens Golf Course, turning to the northeast soon after. Just after that bend in the highway, CR 1 comes to an end at an intersection with NY 33 in the hamlet of Crittenden.^[3]

The bridge just 0.2 miles (0.32 km) north of CR 1's intersection with New York State Route 33 was constructed by the Erie County Highway Department in 1990. The bridge carries County Route 1 over a CSX/Amtrak railroad bridge, and is a two-lane highway (one lane in each direction). The bridge is 219 feet (67 m) long and gets an average of 2,950 drivers per day. The cost to reconstruct the structurally safe bridge would be $2.015 million (2006 USD).^[4]

Route 2

County Route 2
Location:	Amherst–Millersport
Length:	8.54 mi[1] (13.74 km)

County Route 2 is a 8.3-mile (13.4 km) connector road for the northwest part of Amherst near North Tonawanda and Wheatfield to Millersport. The road starts at U.S. Route 62 in Amherst and ends at New York State Route 78 in Millersport. Route 2 begins at an intersection with U.S. Route 62 in Amherst near White Chapel Memorial Park. Four miles later, Route 2 intersects New York State Route 270. The road continues for a final 3.5 miles (5.6 km), ending at NY 78/CR 559 in Millersport near New York State Route 263. There is also a connector road to Niagara County Route 96 on CR 2.

By 2008, work is to start on replacing Tonawanda Creek Road in Clarence.^[5] There were detours for travelers when they intersected Transit Road. There was a cave-in on CR 559 in June 2004^[5] that has since been repaired as of mid-2009.^{[citation needed]} (the continuation of Tonawanda Creek Rd in Clarence is CR 559)

Route 3

County Route 3
Location:	Wales
Length:	0.16 mi[citation needed] (0.26 km)

County Route 3 is a 0.16-mile (0.26 km) road in the town of Wales, New York. The road begins as a dead end just south of U.S. Route 20A and ends at New York State Route 78, west of Wales Center. CR 3 is a former alignment of NY 78 that was bypassed when NY 78 was realigned to intersect with US 20A at its current location.

Route 4

County Route 4
Location:	Hamburg–Lackawanna
Length:	5.66 mi[1] (9.11 km)

County Route 4 is a 5.93-mile (9.54 km) road in the towns of Hamburg, Orchard Park and Lackawanna. The road begins at County Routes 44, 51 and 169 in Armor and heads north, terminating at the Buffalo city line.

At 1.4 miles (2.3 km), U.S. Route 20A intersects. After Erie Community College, at 2.10 miles (3.38 km), CR 4 intersects US 20 in Orchard Park. At 2.96 miles (4.76 km), New York State Route 179 (Milestrip Road) intersects. At 5.33 miles (8.58 km), U.S. Route 62 intersects near Cazenovia Park. County Route 4 comes to an end at the Buffalo city line, where it becomes known as South Park Avenue.

The northern stretch of Abbott Road was originally designated as part of New York State Route 240 in the 1930s.^[6] NY 240 was realigned in the 1960s to follow Orchard Park and Harlem Roads instead.^[7][8]

Route 5

County Route 5
Location:	Angola

County Route 5 is a 1.9-mile (3.1 km) road in the town of Angola, a town on the outskirts of Buffalo. The road is entirely in Angola. Route 5 begins at a T-intersection with Erie County Route 9 in downtown Angola.^[9] The road leaves the town and intersects with New York State Route 5 at one mile (1.6 km). Route 5 comes to an end at a fork in the road at Lake Shore Boulevard (CR 111).

Route 6

County Route 6
Location:	East Aurora – Porterville
Length:	3.99 mi[1] (6.42 km)

County Route 6 is a major thoroughfare in downtown East Aurora and Porterville. The road is 4.05 miles (6.52 km) long and begins at a triple concurrency of U.S. Route 20A, New York State Route 78, and New York State Route 16 in East Aurora. The road ends at an intersection with Two Rod Road (unsigned NY 954G) in Porterville.

Erie County Route 6 begins at the triplex in East Aurora and goes through the downtown as Pine Street.^[10] Just as Route 6 leaves the downtown area, it makes a turn to the northeast and becomes known as East Aurora-Porterville Road. At 1.4 miles (2.3 km), Erie Route 6 crosses over the Aurora Expressway (NY 400). At Erie County Route 528, the road makes a turn to the east and comes to an end at Reference Route 954G in Porterville.

Route 9

County Route 9 is a major thoroughfare through Angola, Brant, and Evans, New York. The road is 8.29 miles (13.34 km) long and stretches from the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation boundary to an intersection with New York State Route 5. Although Brant Reservation Road continues to an intersection with New York State Route 438, Route 9 does not. The portion of County Route 9 north of New York State Route 249 was once New York State Route 323.^[6]

County Route 9 begins at the boundary line for the Cattagarus Indian Reservation.^[11] The road goes north, intersecting with New York State Route 249 at 1.4 miles (2.3 km). Route 9 crosses under the New York State Thruway. U.S. Route 20 intersects at 3.7 miles (6.0 km) in Pontiac, New York, which is just outside of Angola. Route 9 goes northward, intersecting with Lake Street, also known as Erie CR 5. Route 9 then enters downtown Angola and heads north into Brant. Erie CR 9 continues north, coming to an end at New York State Route 5 in Evans at 8.29 miles (13.34 km).

Route 10

County Route 10
Location:	Alden
Length:	1.90 mi[2] (3.06 km)

County Route 10 is a minor thoroughfare in the town of Alden, New York. The road begins at an intersection with Erie County Route 166 in Alden Center and ends at Walden Avenue in Alden. There is relatively few intersections along the 1.9-mile (3.1 km) length in Alden.

Erie County Route 10 begins at an intersection with Erie CR 166, also known as North Street.^[12] There is an intersection with Uebelhoer Road in Alden Center at .4 miles. Creekview Road, a road through downtown Wende, intersects at 1.5 miles (2.4 km). The county route comes to an end .4 of a mile later at Walden Avenue in Alden. Just to the left on Walden, the Wende Road designation continues north, as Erie County Route 113.

The road was rerouted to its current alignment, ending separate of its counterpart Wende Rd to the north, to avoid the Wende Correctional Facility, located just west of the current alignment near its northern terminus. It also crosses the former Lehigh Valley Railroad right-of-way just south of here.

Route 11

County Route 11
Location:	Grand Island

County Route 11 is one of the major roads on Grand Island. The road is 9.81 miles (15.79 km) long and runs along the eastern coast of Grand Island. The road begins at Bush Road (CR 577) near Beaver Island State Park and heads north then west, ending at Baseline Road (Erie CR 249) in Sandy Beach.

Erie County Route 11 begins at an intersection with Bush Road and East River Road in the Ferry Village area of Grand Island.^[13] CR 11 intersects different local streets along Grand Island's eastern coast until crossing under Interstate 190 at 1.8 miles (2.9 km). The road continues north, passing Whitehaven Cemetery. At 7.1 miles (11.4 km), the road turns to the west. The road intersects with Stony Point Road before coming to an end at Baseline Road.

Route 16

County Route 16 is a minor thoroughfare in the town of Marilla. Known as East Avenue, the road goes east for .9 of a mile, just north of downtown Marilla. The road starts at Two Rod Road (formerly NY 358) in Marilla.^[14] The road goes east, intersecting with Shannon Drive at .2 of a mile. Route 12 comes to an end at Four Road Road (CR 356) in Marilla.

Route 18

County Route 18
Location:	Angola–Eden

County Route 18 is a major thoroughfare through Evans and Derby, New York. The road is 6.46 miles (10.40 km) long and stretches from a T-intersection with Erie CR 127 in Derby to an intersection with Erie CR 32 right outside of Eden. CR 18 begins at an intersection with Lake Shore Drive (CR 127) near the shores of Lake Erie.^[15] At 1.1 miles (1.8 km), New York State Route 5 intersects Erie 18 and heads south into Jerusalem Corners. Route 18 enters Derby and intersects with County Route 41 (Versailles Plank Road). U.S. Route 20 intersects CR 18 before crossing under the New York State Thruway (I-90). The road becomes known as Derby Road and comes to an end at Eden-Evans Center Road (CR 32), just outside of Eden.

Route 21

Location:	West Seneca – Cheektowaga
Length:	2.90 mi[1] (4.67 km)

County Route 21 is a thoroughfare in Cheektowaga and West Seneca. The road is 2.70 miles (4.35 km) long, starting at New York State Route 277 and ending at a double concurrency with U.S. Route 20 and New York State Route 78 in West Seneca. Also present at the eastern terminus is Erie County Route 338.

CR 21 begins at a T-intersection with Union Street, also known as Route 277.^[16] The road heads westward through Cheektowaga, passing JC Stigimeier Park at .6 of a mile. Erie CR 21 continues, intersecting with Borden Road (Erie CR 322) at 2.20 miles (3.54 km). A half-mile later, Erie CR 21 comes to an end at a 4-way intersection with U.S. Route 20, New York 78 and Erie County 338 in West Seneca.

Route 23

County Route 23 is a minor thoroughfare in Depew and Lancaster, New York. The road is 1.50 miles (2.41 km) long and stretches from Erie CR 338 to the U.S. Route 20. The road is known as Penora Street, even past the CR designation. CR 23 begins at an intersection with Erie CR 338 south of Depew.^[17] The road heads north, entering Lancaster. Como Park Boulevard, also Erie County Route 523, intersects as CR 23 paralleled Como Lake Park. CR 23 crosses a river, where it enters Depew, coming to an end at U.S. Route 20.

Route 24

County Route 24 is a minor thoroughfare in Clarence, New York. The road is 4.74 miles (7.63 km) long and is known as Lapp Road. The road begins at New York State Route 78 in Swormville and ends at Erie County Route 560 in Clarence. CR 24 begins at a T-intersection with Route 78.^[18] The road then intersects with two local roads and at 2.5 miles (4.0 km), Erie CR 283 intersects. Erie County Route 216 intersects at 3.1 miles (5.0 km) before Route 24 comes to an end at Erie CR 560 in Clarence.

Route 27

County Route 27
Location:	East Concord – Chaffee

County Route 27 is a long thoroughfare in northeastern Erie County. Route 27 begins at an intersection with New York State Route 240 and Erie County Routes 49, 198, 409 and 432 in East Concord. The road has a short concurrency with Route 240 before heading off to the east alone. The road comes to an end at New York State Route 16 in Chaffee. CR 27 begins at an intersection with the four county routes and New York State Route 240 in East Concord.^[19] The road is concurrent with 240 for a half-mile, where 240 heads to the north. Route 27 goes to the northeast towards Pratham Road (CR 407), which it intersects soon after. Route 27 goes through Sardinia and intersects Erie County Route 405 in Scott Corners. Route 27 continues west and comes to an end at New York State Route 16 in Chaffee.

Route 28

County Route 28
Location:	North Boston – Armor
Length:	4.44 mi[1] (7.15 km)

County Route 28 is the southern segment of Abbott Road, which stretches from Armor to Buffalo. Known as South Abbott Road, CR 28 stretches for 4.44 miles (7.15 km) from North Boston to Armor. The road is parallel with U.S. Route 219 for a while. CR 28 begins at an intersection with New York State Route 391 in North Boston.^[20] The road goes northward, intersecting New York State Route 277 at a half-mile. Paralleling U.S. 219 and NY 391, Route 28 goes northward and heads into Hamburg. Route 28 comes to an end in Armor at Erie CR 44.

Route 30

County Route 30 is the designation assigned by Erie County to a 4.42-mile (7.11 km) county-maintained segment of New York State Route 240 in East Concord and Glenwood. CR 30 begins at the point where NY 240 separates from CR 27 in East Glenwood and follows NY 240 north into Glenwood, where it ends at the intersection of NY 240 and CR 240. NY 240 continues north from this point as a state-maintained highway.

Route 32

County Route 32 is a connector road from Evans to Eden, New York. Stretching for 7.34 miles (11.81 km), the road starts at Erie County Route 9 in Evans Center near New York State Route 5. Route 32 ends in the village of Eden at U.S. Route 62 and Erie County Route 488.

Erie County Route 32 begins at an interchange with Route 9 in Evans as Old Eden-Evans Center Road. The road goes to the southeast for a short time, turning onto Eden-Evans Center Road and heads east towards Eden.^[21] Erie County Route 477 (Delameter Road) intersects at 1.1 miles (1.8 km). Route 32 continues eastward, intersecting U.S. Route 20 at 2.6 miles (4.2 km) in Angola. The New York State Thruway and County Route 41 intersect just after. County Route 18 intersects just before entering the village of Eden. Route 32 enters Eden and changes name to West Church Street before coming to an end at U.S. Route 62 and Erie County Route 488 in the downtown portion.
