County Route 560 begins at an intersection with
New York State Route 5 in Clarence. The concurrency ends .3 of a mile later as Route 163 heads eastward. After intersecting with several local roads, Route 560 intersects County Routes 218 and 262 (Hunts Corners - Akron Road and County Road) at 3.5 miles. As Route 560 passes Beekman County Park, it intersects with County Route 24 (Lapp Road). Route 560 continues north and comes to an end at County Routes 559 and 43 near Rapids.History
Route 560 was originally part of New York State Route 268, which was assigned in the 1930s. ["Automobile Legal Association (ALA) Automobile Green Book", 1938/39 edition, (W.A. Thibodeau, 1938).] Route 268 began at an intersection with Route 5 (CR 560's current southern terminus), headed north along Salt Road, intersected with Tonawanda Creek Road and terminated at
New York State Route 78 in Millersport. In April of 1980, the state ofNew York and Erie County officially approved the swapping of Route 268, and other nearby roads to the county. Route 268 was officially decommissioned, and replaced by County Routes 559 and 560 onApril 1 ,1980 .
