Dr. Babasahed Ambedkar International Airport (Marathi: डॉ.बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर आंतरराष्ट्रीय विमानतळ) (IATA: NAGICAO: VANP) is a public domestic and international airport serving the city of Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. It is one of the 18 Airports in Maharashtra. It was named after Bharatratna Dr. "Babasaheb" Ambedkar who was an Indian jurist, political leader, Buddhist activist, philosopher, thinker, anthropologist, historian, orator, prolific writer, economist, scholar, editor, revolutionary and the revivalist of Buddhism in India and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. Strategically located and in a prosperous region, Nagpur International Airport figures to play prominently in the spectacular growth of air travel in India. The airport connects Nagpur to India's main aviation hubs of Mumbai and Delhi, as well as the international destinations Sharjah / Dubai

This airport is slated to be the Multimodal International Hub Airport in India and the development work is already started in the mid of 2005, which is expected to bring the new glory to the airport and apparently for the city of Nagpur. This will also help reducing the overload on other busy airports in India by diverting the cargo and passengers traffic to Nagpur as well as will make the city one of the most important business and economic center in India and Asia.
