The Parish Church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Anthony the Hermit and belongs to the Diocese of Koper.[3]
The Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are located in the municipality.[4]
Divača is the birthplace of the Slovene actress Ita Rina. The Olympic fencer Rudolf Cvetko and the anti-Fascist insurgence leader Danilo Zelen were born in the village of Senožeče.
