Bovec ( _de. Flitsch, _it. Plezzo) is a small alpine town in northwestern Slovenia. Bovec () lies in the Bovec basin in the Soča valley below the Kanin mountains in the Julian Alps. It is one of the 193 municipalities ("občine") of Slovenia. It is situated 136 km from Ljubljana at an altitude of 434 m. It is close to the Italian border and to the Triglav National Park. It was first mentioned in 1192. It was part of Austria between 1250-1918 and Italia between 1918-1945.

Bovec features the spring of "Soča" river, the 106 m high "Boka" waterfall, the ski resort "Kanin", numerous hotels, and an airfield (LJBO). In 2007, a part of the movie, Prince Caspian, was filmed close to it.

The population is 1300.
