VenezuelaMiss Earth 2005, the 5th edition of Miss Earth beauty pageant, took place on October 23, 2005 in Quezon City, Philippines. A total of 80 candidates from around the globe took part in the event.
Alexandra Braun Waldeck of Venezuela was crowned by Miss Earth 2004 Priscilla Meirelles as the new Miss Earth.[1][2]

Numerous contestants appeared in other pageants. These include:
- Katarzyna Weronika Borowicz (Poland) was 3rd Runner-up in Miss World 2004 and in Miss Europe 2006. Aside from Borowicz, Cristina Eugenia Reyes Hidalgo (Ecuador) and Tania Maria Domanickzy Vargas (Paraguay) were also contestants in Miss World 2004. During the same year, the latter was proclaimed as "Miss Sudamericana."
- Bolivia's Vanessa Patricia Morón Jarzun was in Miss International 2004, while Egypt's Elham Wagdi was in the Miss International 2006 and would compete in Miss Universe 2009. Angela Maria Fonseca Spinola (Portugal) was in Miss World 2005. El Salvador's Irma Marina Dimas Pineda was previously in Miss Universe 2005.
- Miss Earth USA, Amanda Kimmel is also Miss Montana USA 2005, however, she was unplaced in Miss USA 2005. By making it to the top 8 in the Miss Earth pageant, she is so far the highest placing American delegate. Amanda was runner up in the American TV show Survivor in its 15th and 16th season.
- Cynthia Kanema of (Zambia) became the first woman to represent her country in all of the Big Four Pageants - Miss World in 2003, Miss International in 2004, and Miss Universe in 2005, before coming to this pageant. She did not place in any of them.[3][5]
