Daisi Pollard became a popular person of interest in 2005 when she was crowned Miss Jamaica International. Daisi Pollard was the first Jamaican candidate in history to compete in the Miss Earth 2005, Miss Asia Pacific 2005 and Miss Beauty Queen World and the only known candidate to represent three different countries.[1]
Referred to as a controversial image in the pageant world, Daisi was most notable for her on stage protest on poor treatment by the pageant organizers at the Miss Asia Pacific International 2005. During the pageants final dress rehearsal, Miss Jamaica, Daisi Pollard was escorted off the stage after protesting irregularities and she interrupted the taping by walking across the stage to the microphone and loudly protesting. Daisi was escorted off stage and judges were eventually removed from the rehearsal.[2]

Career
As a model, Daisi's body of work includes participating in LA Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, LA Urban Fashion Week, Jam Vibez magazine, Reggae Planet, Gap Commercials (2004), Old Navy (2003), MTV, Lifetimes HTLGN (episode 2.2), Bravo’s Launch My Line "Bare Minimal"(episode 4) and Good Day LA. She has also appeared on international networks TVJ and CVM's Smile Jamaica and Star World ABS-CBN in Asia. Daisi made her film debut in King of the Streets [1] (2009) Laguna Productions and followed by up with Box of Shadows [2] (2010) Fotocomics Productions. She is currently the host of The Model Professor (2010)[3] MHE.[4]
Charity
An advocate for education, Daisi used her Miss Jamaica International 2005 title to promote computer & technology literacy with the CCGI[1] throughout Jamaica in which she gained the support of several Jamaican politicians including Governor General Sir Howard Cooke, the Mayor of Kingston, Desmond McKenzie, Minister of Education, Maxine Henry Wilson and the Jamaica Tourist Board. Ms. Pollard toured as a keynote speaker for Barbizon International from 2006-2008 to promote their $100,000 scholarship program.
