Dunton has a small lower school and a pre-school that meets in The Memorial Hall, which is also used by other village organizations and is available for hire. In the distant past, Dunton once had a combined facility for the purpose of shopping and use as the Post Office, until it was turned into a house. There is a pub called the March Hare which reopened in August 2010 after being closed for two years. It plans to become a major location for ale drinking in the city.[2]
There is a Playing Field with a sports pavilion used by a men's adult football team that play in the Beds Premier and a reserve team that play in the Beds Premier Reserve Division 2. This year Dunton has added an under 15's youth side, these boys have a direct route into adult football and play in the Royston crow league.
The Parish Church of St. Mary Magdalene dominates the village center and is floodlit at night. It is very active with a range of regular community events being held in addition to weekly services.
