They named the settlement, roughly half way between the brooks, Wignalton after the founding settler Edward Wignal. The name of the village was latter changed to Wymington, by a local pastor, due to the negative reputation of the early gypsy settlers.Wymington, although in Bedfordshire, has a Northamptonshire area code and postcode.
