List of WWE Champions

This is a chronological list of wrestlers that have been WWE Champion by ring name. The WWE Championship is a professional wrestling world championship in World Wrestling Entertainment. It is the original world title of WWE. Currently, it is the highest ranked championship on the SmackDown brand. There have been a total of 36 recognized champions who have had a combined 85 official reigns.

The championship has been known as:
