ChinaMiss International 2005, the 45th Miss International pageant was held in Koseinenkin Hall, Tokyo, Japan on September 26 2005. 52 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Jeymmy Vargas of Colombia crowned her successor Precious Quigaman of the Philippines as the new Miss International. She became the fourth Filipino to win the pageant.

Contestant Notes
- Bahamas, Hong Kong and United Kingdom competed at Miss World 2004 in Sanya, People's Republic of China. United Kingdom participated as Wales and finished as a semifinalist after winning the fast track event, Miss World Sports.
- Ethiopia was a semifinalist at the Miss Universe 2006 pageant held in Los Angeles, USA.
- Nicaragua participated at Miss Universe 2005 held in Bangkok, Thailand, but failed to placed.
- Norway and Sweden competed together at the Miss Europe 2006 pageant where both were semifinalists. Sweden went on to compete in Miss Earth 2006 in Manila, Philippines, but failed to place.
- At that time, the Philippines won the Miss International title for the fourth time, making it the most successful Asian country and second most successful after Venezuela who won its fifth title the following year.
