Japan[1]Miss International 2007, the 47th Miss International pageant was held at The Hotel Prince Park Tower, Tokyo, Japan on October 15, 2007. 61 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown marking at that time, the biggest turnout in the pageants 47 year history. That record was held until 2008 where 63 nations send representatives. Miss International 2006, Daniela Di Giacomo of Venezuela crowned her successor Priscila Perales of Mexico as the new Miss International.

- Danielle Byrne (Australia) also won Miss Model of The World Australia 2007 shortly after returning to Sydney from Miss International. She made the final top 10 at this competition held in China.
- Priscila Perales (Mexico) competed at Miss Universe 2006 and placed in the Top 10.
- Dorota Gawron (Poland) Dorota is also Miss Baltic Sea/Scandinavia 2006 and together with Alida Boer (Guatemala) and Teodora Marcic (Serbia) competed at Miss Universe 2007. None reached the semifinals and also failed to qualify in this pageant.
- Ana Carolina Viñas (Dominican Republic) competed at the International Coffee Queen 2007 (Reinado Internacional del Café) in Manizales, Colombia.
- Marie Ann Salas (Chile) participated in Miss Universo Chile 2006 but she fell down off a horse and had to leave the competition.
- Haydil Rivera (Puerto Rico) won Miss Teen World 2005.
- Aruni Rajapakse (Sri Lanka) was supposed to compete in Miss Universe 2007 also representing Sri Lanka. However her name was taken away from the Miss Universe website and Sri Lanka did not compete. The reason is still unknown. the following year, she competed at the Miss Universe 2008 in Nha Trang, Vietnam but she failed to the top 15.
- India's Esha Gupta is India's top Fashion model, was a favorite for the crown. Though she did not even make to the semifinals. She has a striking resemblance with Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie. Her Wardrobe was considered a big disaster causing her failure in the contest.
- For the 10th time only in the history of the Miss Hong Kong pageant, the second runner-up does not compete at Miss International. Usually the second runner-up of the national pageant competes at Miss International but the organizers of the pageant, TVB, chose Grace Wong Kwan-hing, first runner-up of Miss Hong Kong 2007 to compete. The first runner-up of the pageant usually competes at Miss World and this is only the 4th time that the first runner up competes at Miss International.
- After the pageant, delegates were busy taking photos. One of the delegates were Miss Hong Kong, Grace Wong who forgot her Miss Friendship award at the pageant after giving the award to a Tokyo chaperone. She did not realize that until she arrived in Hong Kong and the Miss International Organization has to mail the award back to Hong Kong.
- Miss Japan International 2007, Hisako Shirata crowned her successor, Kyoko Ayamen at same time who competed at Miss International 2007.
- Yulia Sindzeyeva (Belarus) was 4th runner-up at Miss Europe 2006 and was supposed to compete at Miss World 2007. However due to contracts with Miss International Organization prevent Sindyezeva to compete in Miss World so she will not be in the pageant.
- Despoina Vlepaki (Greece) won Miss Balkan Beauty Ambassador 2007.
Historical significance
- Mexico wins its first Miss International crown. It is also the first major title the nation has won since 1991, when Lupita Jones won Miss Universe 1991.
- Greece placed in the top 3 for the 2nd time in 4 years, last happening in 2004.
- Chile makes the top 15 for the 3rd time, last happening in 2001. Before it, Chile first placed in 1980.
- Belarus debuted in the pageant and won 2nd runner up. Later she competed in Miss World 2009 but she was unplaced.
- Indonesia makes the top 15 for the 2nd time, after 30 years of absence. The highest placement of Indonesia was in 1977 when Indri Hapsari Soeharto placed as second runner up.
- Hong Kong makes the top 15 for the 3rd time after 22 years. Their last placement was in 1985 when Ellen Wong made the top 15. Grace Wong also won Miss Friendship, a title won by Hong Kong for 6 times already, 4th consecutive win too. Her win makes Hong Kong the nation to gather the most Miss Friendship titles at Miss International and the most congenial titles at any international beauty pageant.
- Korea, Spain, and Puerto Rico makes the cut for 2 years in a row, and Venezuela for 3 years.
- Japan continues their streak at Miss International and places for the 15th consecutive time.
- Sri Lanka makes the semifinals for the 3rd time after 43 years, last placing in 1964.
- Photographers covering the event favored Misses Russia, India, Spain, Brazil, Turkey and Japan. Japan has the reigning Miss Universe 2007 (Riyo Mori), she and the Miss Universe Japan Organization both have boosted beauty pageants in Japan.
- Serbia participated for the first time as an independent country separate from Montenegro.
- Armenia and Belarus competed for the first time.
- Indonesia took part in the pageant after 30 years of absence.
- For the first time in the history of the pageant, there were two deaf and mute contestants, France and Venezuela.
- Although listed in the official site, contestants from Bahamas, Cameroon, Ghana and Sudan, never made it to the pageant. Vietnam and Congo were the last contestants to arrive, missing the initial press conference; Thailand changed their delegate at the last minute.
- The pageant was held in conjunction with Miss Japan International, which the winner represents Japan in Miss International 2008.
- Chile, Greece, United Kingdom, and USA came back after not participating in 2006.
- Vanessa Peretti (Venezuela) and Sophie Vouzelaud (France) were the first deaf and mute contestants to take part in the Miss International pageant.
