*American Legion Memorial Freeway, most of I-75 in the northern Lower Peninsula, roughly from Saginaw to the Otsego County/Cheboygan County line (see G. Mennen Williams Freeway below)
*Brighton-Farmington Expressway, I-96/M-5 Brighton to Farmington; no longer named as such.
*Prentiss M. Brown Freeway, I-75 in Mackinac County.
*Walter P. Chrysler Freeway, I-75, I-375, 1.2 miles; Downtown Detroit to northern Oakland County.
*Christopher Columbus Freeway, M-53 Sterling Heights to Washington Township; sometimes referred to as the "Van Dyke Expressway" by locals.

*Detroit-Toledo Expressway, I-75 Ohio border to Woodhaven

*St. Joseph Valley Parkway, U.S. Highway 31 south of I-196 going southerly toward the Indiana state border. It is not connected to any other freeway segment in Michigan unless you take the Indiana Toll Road from that to another freeway that feeds into Michigan. Has been under study for decades. And will be connected to the other freeways in Michigan by approximately 2015.
*Sojourner Truth Downtown Parkway, I-194 from I-94 into downtown Battle Creek.
*UAW Freeway, I-475 through Flint, commemorating Flint's role in the creation of the UAW.
*G. Mennen Williams Freeway, I-75 in Cheboygan County.

Others by highway number

*M-5 is a freeway from the I-275/I-96/I-696 junction to Grand River Avenue west-northwest of Middlebelt Road. This portion used to be part of I-96; and the part where M-5 continues east used to be BS I-96. However, between the timeframe of the current designations and the latter designations; this freeway portion used to be M-102.

*US 12 (see below)
*CONN M-13 is a freeway that goes from I-75 north of US 10's eastern terminus and Kawkawlin. This used to be part of US-23 until the late 1960s, then for a short time became ALT US-23, but was rejected since ALT routes were not allowed in Michigan, and then renamed to a "connector" designation.
*M-14 is a freeway from the southern I-275/I-96 junction in Livonia to I-94 west of Ann Arbor
*US 23 is a freeway from the state line to Standish. It runs concurrent with I-75 between south of Flint to the east-west stub of freeway that connects I-75 to M-13's northern terminus.
*US 31 is a freeway in 3 portions:
**The St. Joseph Valley Parkway from the Indiana border to the part which almost touches the I-196/I-94 intersection where US-31 runs concurrent (see below); however, the St. Joseph Valley Parkway ends at Napier Avenue and is scheduled to continue on in 2015.
**Concurrent with I-196 from southern terminus to Holland
**From Muskegon to Ludington
*M-37 runs concurrent with I-96 near Grand Rapids, Michigan, and turns into an expressway north of it (see below).
*M-39 (see above)
*M-47 for 4.5 miles from Midland road near Freeland to its northern terminus.
*M-59 freeway from Pontiac to Utica
*M-60 is a freeway from its eastern terminus to approx. 5 miles south of it.
*US 131 is a freeway from Schoolcraft to north of Manton.

Expressways

An expressway is a controlled-access divided highway with a limited number of intersections and no private access. Unlike a freeway it has at-grade intersections and traffic lights. It should be noted that in Michigan many people use the term expressway to refer to a freeway type road.
*Ecorse Road from US 12 to Belleville Rd.
*John D. Dingell Dr., Eureka Rd. to I-94 (Was built c. 1999 for access to some new terminals at the Detroit Metro Airport)
*Marquette Bypass (US-41/M-28), the expressway bypass of downtown Marquette built in the 1960s.
*Metropolitan Parkway (from its eastern terminus to Schoenherr Road)
*M-5 (Haggerty Connector), Novi to Commerce Township.
*U.S. Highway 12 is an expressway in 2 segments. Here are the expressway segments:
**West of Niles, Michigan toward US-31; and transitions to a freeway when it bypasses Niles.
**East of the freeway concurrency with I-94 bypassing the Willow Run Airport.
*M-25 is an expressway between the I-75/US-23/U.S. Route 10 interchange and the turnaround for the pair of one-way streets named "Jenny Street" and "Thomas street" in the Bay City vicinity.
*M-37 is an expressway from its concurrent portion on I-96 (see above) and Cassonova. It transitions into a two-lane freeway near Sparta.
*M-85 is an expressway between its southern terminus at I-75 and the Fort Rd. angle junction.
*US 131 is a 6 mile long expressway from the its southern junction with Business 131 in Three Rivers until M-216.

Undivided

*M-54 is a 4-lane undivided expressway that goes through Grand Blanc, Michigan.
*M-63 is a 4-lane undivided expressway that runs about 3 miles parallel to Interstate 196; this stretch of expressway was originally intended to be part of U.S. Route 31; and used to be part of U.S. Route 33.

Former two-lane freeways

*The freeway portion of M-47 used to be a two-lane freeway until it was twinned in 1966.
*The so-called "Saginaw bypass", now I-75/US 23; between Dixie Highway and M-81, used to be a two-lane freeway until it got twinned c. 1960.
*The Romeo Bypass (M-53) from the north end of the Christopher Columbus Freeway northerly past Romeo, MI; used to be a two-lane freeway until c. 2002
*M-54 was originally a two-lane freeway bypassing Grand Blanc, Michigan.
*US 131 from Ashton to the Pennsylvania RR overpass in Wexford County was a 2-lane freeway when it opened to traffic in 1966, and was upgraded to full freeway in 1976.
