Derrytresk (from Irish: Doire Treasc or Doir Troisca) is a small townland outside Coalisland, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and is close to the shores of Lough Neagh. Derrytresk is over 1,000 acres (4.0 km2) and consists of sub-townlands; Derryvarne, Derrykiltena and Derrynahaskila. It means "Grove of the Brewers' Grains".
The neighbouring townlands are Derryloughan, Cronkil, Mullanakill North, Annaghbeg, Drumcrow, Corr, Annaghmore and Annaghaboe. Local landmarks include Doire Treasc Fir an Chnoic Clubrooms & Playing field, Kingisland Chapel & School and Coalisland Canal.[citation needed]
Notable people
Notable people from Derrytresk include Patrick Hagan who settled in Scott County, Virginia, USA having left Derrytresk in 1847. Patrick trained as an attorney and acted in the trial of Daniel Dean.[citation needed]
