Kilskeery

Kilskeery (Irish: "Cill Scíre") is a small village in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, near Trillick. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 57 people. It lies within the Omagh District Council area.

The Ballinamallard River flows through the village towards Lough Erne. The village has 2 graveyards within its boundaries. The "old" graveyard surrounded by stone walls has graves from the 1800s.

Village Layout

The local church is the Church of Ireland with a graveyard surrounding it. On the other side of road is the village hall.

FAMOUS ORGAINISATIONSHome to the legendary Kilskeery Freedom Fighters. Fought to the last man to protect their right to get wrote off and shout slogans. Well known for their love of vandalism and graffiti. Favourites were " suck dick bitch" often abbrievated to SDB.

These band of armed desparados eventually disbanded in the wake of the good friday agreement as they had been previously linked to a number of high profile terrorist attacks. The most famous of which was the high profile fire bombing of a caravan in the area. That belonged to a Bryce Herrington a member of a rival faction known as the BFF.

Then group refused to take part in any decomissioning of their extensive arsenal of weapons.

The group still remains active in some areas namely fudraising through a burger van

However the most die hard and pro active menbers of the group fled abroad in the aftermath of the ceasefire unable to adapt to the new peace loving kilskeery.

Several members are still wanted in relation to the fire bombing and other terrorist activities involving fireworks.

members maintain that THEIR ONLY CRIME WAS LOYALTY.
