Eglish

Eglish

Eglish (Irish: "An Eaglais", meaning "the church") is a small village in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, about 6km southwest of Dungannon. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 93 people. It is situated within the Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council area.

The village has developed in a dispersed form and has a mix of housing, industry and local services and facilities. There is a large concrete works to the west of Eglish Road, Dalys Service station and McCanns Shop. Facilities include primary schools, churches, halls, playing fields and a shop. A new development on Stiloga Hill called Beachville Heights has more than 60 new houses, so the population is much higher than the 93 stated in the last census.
