Gortin (Irish: "An Goirtín") is a
village inCounty Tyrone ,Northern Ireland . It is situated ten miles (16 km) north ofOmagh in the valley of theOwenkillew River , overlooked by the Sperrin Mountains. It had a population of 360 people in the 2001 Census. It at one point boasted nine pubs. The village is heavily dependent on agriculture for its economy, but the village is also trying to develop its tourism potential. Gortin is situated in theOmagh District Council area.Places of interest

Gortin Glen Forest Park . This Forest Park was first opened in 1967 and covers some 15.34 km².
