Website www.nirmalcity.com Nirmal is a town, mandal headquarters and a municipality in Adilabad district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.It is the political headquarters of the district having a history of 400years.The name "NIRMAL" has been derived from one of its famous rulers NIMMA NAIDU way back in 17th century.He was a great patriot of arts, thus encouraged the art of toy making out of Teak which is one of the flourished of arts of his time bringing significance to the town.Today toy making is a small scale industry in the Town.

Nirmal is located at 19°30′N 78°12′E / 19.5°N 78.20°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 340 metres (1100 feet). Nirmal is surrounded by 14 lakes which makes the place special.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Nirmal had a population of 75,254.[present population is around 1,10,000]. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Nirmal has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 56%. In Nirmal, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Nirmal Painting and wooden toys are famous all over the world. From the rustic ethos to the royal environment, from flora to fauna, an explicit array of expressions is portrayed in myriad colours and forms on Nirmal products. This art form named after its place of origin, Nirmal in Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh.

Nirmal is the political head quarters of Adilabad district. Nirmal has a great cultural history,Nirmal is the main town in Adilabad district. Nirmal is connected by road to Kalyan in Maharashtra by National Highway 222 (India). The place can be reached by travelling 210 km in northern direction or 6 hours from Hyderabad, Hyderabad by travelling in the APSRTC buses or 3.0 to 3.5 Hours by car on the National Highway No. 7. The highway has 4 lanes by which the journey has been made easier. Town located on north-south express way.
