This constituency, like many others in Rayalaseema area was infested with factional feuds. But with the death of P. Siva Reddy, the factionalism seems to be on the decline. Shri P. Siva Reddy was so helpful and more available politician to the public during his tenure. He was elected for Andhra Pradesh Assembly for 4 successive terms from Jammalamadugu constituency. His successor P. Ramasubba Reddy is a moderate and he was recently acquitted in a murder case and released from the jail. Present M.L.A Mr. C. Adinarayana Reddy is seemed to be so dynamic in thinking and doing many social activities. He is the founder trustee of CSR trust which takes care of Medical camps and encourages farmers in giving number of transformers which will be provided by the trust. At the same time he brings so many funds for the local minimum need programme which leads in bringing down the factional feuds.
