Vikarabad or Vicarabad is a town and a Municipality in Ranga Reddy District in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The city is well connected on railroad and has Vikarabad Junction where the railway line coming from Hyderabad/Secunderabad Jn bifurcates towards Pune/Mumbai via Wadi Junction. The other line goes to Purli Vaijnath (a Jyotirlinga Centre) and further on to Parbhani and Maharashtra. Its climate was famous during the princely days. But sadly now deforestation has deprived this city and taluka of its ecological pre-eminence.
