Muradnagar (Hindi: मुरादनगर, Urdu: مراد نگر) is a city and a municipal board in Ghaziabad district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was founded about four hundred years ago by Mirza Muhammad Murad Mughal, son of Mughal Emperor, Alamgir II, whose mausoleum still stands near the town. Suresh Raina, nowadays famous cricketer, belongs to this place. Mr. Pradeep Thakur now a days G.M in Supertech Ltd. OFM school of muradnagar is very famous. OFM students can be found in doing some good posts and jobs.

Geography
Muradnagar is located at 28°47′N 77°30′E / 28.78°N 77.5°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 215 metres (705 ft). The Ganges canal flows through Muradnagar crossing National Highway NH # 58. The city's central part is Ordnance Factory Muradnagar (OFM) which is a defence production unit.
The city has three major leading colleges KIET - An engineering college, ITS-Dental & Medical College and KushalPal Tyagi degree college. The city also has Kendriya Vidhyalya O.F.M. and a branch of Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), which is engaged in various research and testing in high-voltage engineering.
Demographics
As of 2006[update] India census,[2] Muradnagar had a population of 100,080. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Muradnagar has an average literacy rate of 70%, greater than the national average of 60.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 55%. In Muradnagar, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
