Ramganga , the Garrah and theGomti are the main rivers of the district. The Kathana, the Jhukma the Mensi Rivers flow into the Gomti. The Khannaut, the Suketa and the Kai Rivers feed the Garrah. Major crops of the district arewheat ,gram ,millet , andpotato es. Chandra Shekar Azaad ,Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil ,Ashfaqullah Khan ,Thakur Roshan Singh ,Premkishan Khanna and Lahri robbered the British government Funds nearKakori railway station. On, 26th December, 1925,40 persons were arrested in this case.Pandit Ramprasad Bismil ,Ashfaqullah Khan ,Thakur Roshan Singh ,Premkishan Khanna ,Banvari Lal , Hargovind, Indra Bhusan, Nidhipal Gupta,Jagdish and Banarasi were from Shahjahanpur.Importent villege in shajhanpur are Mudia Pamar,Sindholi,Chandpai.MudiaPamar is the one of the richest and devloped villege in whole Uttar Predesh.Shahjahanpur is also famous for its carpet industry, as well as for "Sarrafa"(Jewellery) market.
Shahjahnapur is the birthplace of the pioneer Hindi playwright Bhuvneshwar, and Hindi novelist Hridayesh. Revolutionary hindi poet Vidrohi was also born in Shahjahahnpur.

Technical Education
Shahjahanpur has launched it's first technical education institute known by the name Shree Janki Institute of Higher Education for Women (JIH).
