List of crossovers in fiction

This article comprises a list of fictional crossovers that have occurred between different fictional characters/properties over different mediums.

General crossovers

Most of these crossovers can be assumed to be in continuity for one or both of the characters or universes involved, although the events of the crossover may not be mentioned afterward by either party. See fictional universe for more closely linked crossovers. Many spinoffs cross over with their parent series or originated as a one-time crossover.

Television

Jerry Bruckheimer Productions

* A November 7, 2005 episode of ' continues on an episode of ' on November 9. The characters from "CSI: New York" were first introduced on a second season episode of "CSI: Miami" in May 2004. ' was also introduced via crossover in the second season of '.
* On May 2, 2007 in the "CSI: New York" episode "Cold Reveal", Danny Pino appeared as his "Cold Case" character Scotty Valens as he traveled to New York when it was discovered that CSI Stella Bonasera (Melina Kanakaredes) was connected to an unsolved case. The "CSI" shows, "Cold Case", and "Without a Trace" all air on CBS and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
* "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Without a Trace" had a crossover story that aired on November 8, 2007. "Without a Trace's" Jack Malone guests on "CSI", which continues on "Without a Trace" with Gil Grissom crossing over from "CSI".

Must See TV

* Chandler Bing appeared in "Caroline in the City"
* Kramer from "Seinfeld" appeared on "Mad About You". Oddly enough, a later episode of "Seinfeld" would focus on George having to watch "Mad About You" with his fiancee Susan.
* Norm Peterson (George Wendt) and Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger) from "Cheers" appeared on an episode of "Wings".
* Drs. Frasier and Lilith Crane from "Cheers" also appeared on another episode of "Wings".
* Many of the characters from "Cheers" have appeared on the spinoff "Frasier". On a 2002 episode, Frasier goes back to Boston and sees Carla, Norm, and Cliff. Sam Malone, Woody Boyd, and Diane Chambers have visited Frasier on individual occasions.
* In an episode of "St. Elsewhere", some of the doctors have a drink at "Cheers". While there, Carla serves them, and they also talk with Norm and Cliff.
* "Friends": Phoebe's twin sister, Ursula (both played by Lisa Kudrow), originated as a character on "Mad About You". Lisa has appeared as both characters on "Friends". Helen Hunt from "Mad About You" has also appeared on "Friends".
* Lea Thompson (Caroline) of "Caroline in the City" appeared on an episode of "Friends".
* One episode of "Mad About You" featured Carl Reiner as his character Alan Brady from the 1960s' "Dick Van Dyke Show".

* Steve Urkel visits "Full House" and helps Mark in "Step By Step". This actually does create a conflict when John Stamos appears as himself on "Step by Step", mentioning his role on "Full House". Also in "Step by Step", Cody mentions "Full House" a few times.
* Michelle Tanner from "Full House" appeared on an early episode of "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" when Cooper substituted for Michelle's class, taking place on the "Full House" set, with Michelle's friends, and Jesse appeared dropping off Michelle at Cooper's house.

CBS Shameless Monday

* Ray Romano (Ray Barone) of "Everybody Loves Raymond" has appeared on "The King of Queens". Kevin James had also appeared on "Everybody Loves Raymond" as Doug Heffernan.
* Ray Romano has also appeared as Fran Fine's high school classmate in "The Nanny" where Fran (Fran Drescher) attends her high school reunion.
* Frank and Ray Barone (Peter Boyle and Ray Romano) appeared on an episode of "Cosby", as did Doug Heffernan (Kevin James).
* Hilton Lucas (Bill Cosby of "Cosby"), Doug Heffernan of "The King of Queens", and Frank and Ray Barone of "Everybody Loves Raymond" were in Becker's doctor's office on "Becker".

Non-crossovers

* Characters from "ER" appeared on "Friends" from ER's set.
* On an episode of "The Nanny", Fran is on the set of "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman". Joe Lando and Jane Seymour played themselves dressed in their old-west era clothes.
* Deputy Feif (parody of Deputy Fife) from "The Andy Griffith Show" appears in the "Step by Step" episode "Christmas Story".
* A character from "Cheers" has everyone watch a TV set so that he can point to himself as an extra on another Boston-based TV Show, "".

Two-part episodes

* "Third Watch" has had crossovers with "ER" and "Medical Investigation".
* Characters from "George Lopez" interacted with those from "Freddie" in episodes on both shows as part of a continuing one-night story.
* Characters from "The District" and "The Agency" appeared on each other's show when an episode of "The District" continued on an episode of "The Agency".
* Sammo Hung of "Martial Law" and Chuck Norris of "Walker, Texas Ranger" appeared on each others' shows as a two-part crossover episode. Sammo also appeared as his character on an episode of "Early Edition".
* "That's So Raven", "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody", and "Hannah Montana" all meet up at the Tipton in the episode That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana.
* The characters of "Ally McBeal" hire those of "The Practice", which was a network crossover from FOX to ABC
* "The Practice" had an episode that continued on "Boston Public", which was also a network crossover from ABC to FOX.
* "The Pretender" and "Profiler" had two-part episode.

Daytime

* Many daytime soap operas have had numerous crossovers over the years, particularly the ones that air on ABC. The baby switch storyline on ABC Daytime soap operas "All My Children" and "One Life to Live", in which Paul Cramer (David Tom) from "One Live to Live" visited Pine Valley (the setting of "All My Children") in order to steal the baby of his ex wife, Babe Chandler (Alexa Havins) was part of an ongoing storyline with Babe later visiting Llanview (the setting of "One Life to Live") in order to get her baby back from Paul. This storyline came to a climactic court battle which started one day on "AMC" and was continued the same day on "OLTL". This particular storyline had a precedent in the fact that another "All My Children" character, Skye Chandler (Robin Christopher) had moved from Pine Valley to Llanview in order to find her birth mother. Skye later moved again to Port Charles, the setting for another ABC Daytime Soap Opera, "General Hospital" in order to find her biological father. When All My Children debuted in 1970, ABC had Michael Storm's Dr. Larry Wolek from "One Life to Live" appear on "All My Children" for a few episodes in an attempt for fans of "OLTL" to tune into their new soap opera. When Procter & Gamble canceled "Another World" in 1999, several characters appeared on "As the World Turns" in an attempt to lure viewers to that soap.

Interactions between related shows

* The respective police departments in "Law & Order", ', ', and "" have occasionally had crossover episodes; after the cancellation of "Homicide", Richard Belzer's character, John Munch, was transferred over to "SVU". The character also appeared in episodes of "The X-Files", "Arrested Development" and The Wire.
* Characters from both "Angel" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" visit each other in their respective series.
* The characters from "Crossing Jordan" and "Las Vegas" would make crossover appearances.
* Main characters Teller & Holmes from "Eerie, Indiana" appear briefly on the TV set of the main characters of spinoff Eerie Indiana: The Other Dimension.
* Characters from Chicago Hope appeared, from the shows set, on an episode of Picket Fences.
* Bud Roberts of "JAG" appeared on an episode of "NCIS" during its first season, which is a spinoff of "JAG".
* Characters of "Touched by an Angel" and its spinoff Promised Land have appeared on each other's shows, even an episode of "Touched By An Angel" that continued on "Promised Land".
* Characters from ', ', ', and ' have met each other.
* Two of the characters from "Civil Wars" moved to Los Angeles and became part of the cast of "L.A. Law" after "Civil Wars" was canceled.
* Eb from "Green Acres" appeared on the "Beverley Hillbillies", in spite of once acting in a Hooterville Production of the TV show.
* Stars of "Green Acres" and "Petticoat Junction" have appeared on each other's shows.
* Some characters from "The Cosby Show" appeared on its spinoff "A Different World", sometimes only seen talking on the phone from the set of "The Cosby Show". Rudy, Vanessa, Theo, and Claire from "The Cosby Show" have appeared on "A Different World".
* Some of the girls from "The Facts of Life" have appeared on "Diff'rent Strokes", mostly Tootie and Natalie of TFOL. Mrs. Garrett had appeared on "Diff'rent Strokes" several years after leaving for "The Facts of Life" when she attended Phillip's and Maggie's wedding. Todd Bridges also appeared as Willis from "Diff'rent Strokes" on "The Facts Of Life".
* ' and ' have numerous crossovers - Xena originally began as a Hercules' character, and the viewer demand caused the series' creation. Both Lucy Lawless and Renée O'Connor, stars of Xena, were discovered by the producers of Hercules' during the movies, and later cast as Xena and Gabrielle. Some characters appear on both shows quite frequently like Ares or Aphrodite, while others primarily exist on one show but occasionally cross-over like Joxer or Iolaus. Some characters were originally conceived of on one show, but make appearances on the other show, such as Salmoneus, Autolycus, Hope, and Callisto.
* The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ("" version) met the Space Rangers in an episode of "Power Rangers in Space".

Finishing story plot lines

* George and Louise Jefferson of "The Jeffersons" go to marriage counseling with Will and his fiancée in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air".
* George and Louise Jefferson also appeared on an episode of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" looking to buy the Banks' house near the end of the series. Phillip Drummond and Arnold Jackson from "Diff'rent Strokes" also appeared.
* Frank Black (Lance Henriksen), the main character from "Millennium", appears in an episode of "The X-Files" ("Millennium") which wraps up the plot line of that canceled series. Instead of dealing with "Millennium"'s unconcluded apocalyptic main story-arc, the episode merely deals with Frank assisting the X-Files team in an investigation and ultimately being reunited with his daughter.
* Jose Chung (Charles Nelson Reilly), a single-episode character who played a major role in an episode of "The X-Files", plays a major role in an episode of "Millennium".
* Mike Connors reprised his "Mannix" role on an episode of "Diagnosis Murder", with characters from a 1973 episode with flashbacks from that episode.
* Hillary Banks of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" (played by Karyn Parsons) appeared on an episode of "Blossom" also playing Hilary Banks, who won a date auction with him sponsored by his EMT job.
* Arnold Jackson from "Diff'rent Strokes" appeared on "Silver Spoons".
* Granny from "The Beverly Hillbillies" appeared on "Petticoat Junction", even saying how much Kate looked like cousin Pearl, whom Bea Benaderet played on "The Beverly Hillbillies".
* Granny also appears on an episode of "Mr. Ed", offering to give Wilbur Post some of her spring tonic.
* "Boston Legal" had an episode where Steven Harper ("Boston Public") appeared.
* Andy Griffith also appeared as Benjamin Matlock on "Diagnosis Murder".
* Michael Gross, who played Steven Keaton on "Family Ties", appeared as Steven on "Day By Day".
* The Doctor (from "Doctor Who") meets Death's Head numerous times in the comic of the same name
* Author Greg Cox, in a "Star Trek" media tie-in two-part novel "" connected the character of Jarod from "The Pretender" with the organization that had created Khan Noonien Singh from the "Star Trek" episode "Space Seed". The Chrysalis Project was also credited with the creation of the "beast" Vincent, a man with leonine characteristics, from "Beauty and the Beast". "Chrysalis" was also the name of a villainous agency in "The Invisible Man".

Cartoon

* Ace Ventura meets The Mask ("The Mask" and "Ace Ventura" animated series), playing off of the fact that Ace Ventura and the Mask were both played in their respective films by Jim Carrey.
* Almost all the characters on Adult Swim's programming have appeared on their New Years Specials since the comedy block began in 2001, occasionally crossing over into each other's shows and also in the short "bumps" between the shows and commercial breaks.
* Characters from "Tiny Toon Adventures" have appeared on "Animaniacs".
* Batman fights Count Dracula in "The Batman vs. Dracula"
*' featured a series of crossover episodes in which Lilo and Stitch encounter the main characters from many other Disney Channel animated series, including "The Proud Family", ', "Recess", and "Kim Possible".
* Static from "Static Shock" teams up with a variety of DC Comics heroes, including Superman, Batman, and at one time the members of the Justice League (except for Wonder Woman).
* The X-Files's Fox Mulder and Dana Scully appear on "The Simpsons" to investigate paranormal phenomena in Springfield, and remark that dealing with Homer Simpson is even worse than the time they were attacked by that flesh-eating organism.
* In the anime and manga Tsubasa Chronicle, characters from Cardcaptor Sakura and various other Clamp anime crosses over in many separate dimensions or worlds.
* In the anime and manga Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora, characters Himiko and Kaon are said to be reincarnations of Himeko and Chikane, the heroines from the anime and manga series Kannazuki no Miko.
* The Rugrats meets the main trio of "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters" ("Rugrats")
* The Rugrats meets The Wild Thornberrys ("Rugrats Go Wild")
* Jay Sherman visits "The Simpsons" in "A Star Is Burns". Bart breaks the fourth wall by telling himself he feels "another cheap cartoon crossover" coming on when he is watching TV and hears "The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones" coming up next. He is then introduced to Jay Sherman. When Jay says that the family can visit him on his show, Bart tells him that won't happen. Jay Sherman would later appear in the episode Hurricane Neddy, being confined to a mental ward where he said nothing except "It stinks!" repeatedly.
* Samantha and Darren of "Bewitched" appeared on "The Flintstones" via animation.
* Johnny Bravo occasionally interacts with older Hanna-Barbera characters (i.e. Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones, and Huckleberry Hound).
* I Am Weasel, appeared in one episode of his cartoon at a retirement home for old Hanna-Barbara characters, including Jonny Quest and Ranger Smith from Yogi Bear.
* Billy from "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy" needs to be helped by the five main characters from "" in "The Grim Adventures of the Kids Next Door".
* "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy" episode shows Mandy buying the Island of Evil Con Carne.
* "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy" episode featuring General Skarr from Evil Con Carne moving into the neighborhood and becoming a supporting character.
* In an episode of "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy", a truck carrying “The Worlds Largest Pillow” look similar to the "Transformers" G1 version of Optimus Prime, including the Autobot Insignia on either side of the truck.
* An episode of Adult Swim's "Sealab 2021" ended with the realization that the episode (or at least the fight scene at the end) was actually a video game being played by "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" characters Meatwad and Master Shake.
* An episode of "The Brak Show" featured "Aqua Teen Hunger Force"'s Meatwad riding quickly past the screen on a unicycle.
* "Dexter's Lab" "Dial M For Monkey" villain Huntor appears briefly as hunting Jack in Samurai Jack.
* The Planet Express crew get sucked into a "Simpsons" comic book, and the entire cast of the Simpsons becomes reality in the "Futurama" universe ("Futurama" comic books)
* There is a crossover trilogy with The Fairly OddParents and Jimmy Neutron, in which Timmy Turner and Jimmy Neutron first switch places, then later on meet characters from each others' shows ("The Jimmy Timmy Power Hour" and its sequels).
* Beavis and Butthead appear as live action characters in an episode of "Step By Step", going on a blind date with two of the daughters and shooting Silly String at the father.
* In the Transformers animated series, which took place in the then-futuristic year of 2005, G.I. Joe's arch-nemesis Cobra is defunct, and Cobra Commander is a broken old man who hangs out in the park feeding pigeons, and occasionally selling off some of his old supervillain technology to interested criminal parties. Also, it is believed that EDF Agent Marissa Fairbourne is the daughter of Dashiell Fairbourne, a.k.a. Flint (G.I. Joe). An older man who looks and sounds like Flint makes an appearance as her father in a message.
* Two separate Comedy Central series meet when "South Park"'s Mr. Garrison consults Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist in Summer Sucks.
* The Jetsons travel back in time to meet The Flintstones ("The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones" TV movie)
* An episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, "The Graveyard Shift", features Nosferatu at the ending.
* Various old Hanna-Barbera characters hire, get sued by, or work with Harvey Birdman ("Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law").
* The Blue Falcon and Dynomutt visit Dexter's Laboratory ("Dexter's Laboratory")
* Martin Mystery has appeared in a "Totally Spies" episode ("Total Mystery Much?").
* An episode of "The Cosby Show" featured the Muppets in Cliff's nightmare. Most notably Gonzo.
* Several food related characters (such as The Jolly Green Giant and The Salt Girl) appear in a master card commercial together. Mr. Clean also makes a cameo at the end of the commercial.
* Arthur and Mr. Rogers both making a guest appearance in each others' shows. In Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, Arthur was a puppet; in Arthur's show, Mr. Rogers was an anthropomorphic aardvark.

Film

* Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees slash through each other only to come back to life at the end.("Freddy vs. Jason")
* Godzilla battles King Kong ("King Kong vs. Godzilla")
* Alien battles Predator ("Alien vs. Predator")
* Michael Jordan meets the Looney Tunes ("Space Jam")

Comics

* Transformers meet Spider-Man ("Transformers", Marvel comics).
* Transformers meet G.I. Joe ("Transformers", Marvel comics).
* Conan meets Elric ("Conan the Barbarian", Marvel Comics).
* The different superheroes of the DC Universe and the Marvel Universe often interact, despite appearing in separate series.
* Judge Dredd visits Batman's universe ("Judgement on Gotham", "Vendetta on Gotham", "The Ultimate Riddle", "Die Laughing")
* Quasar travels to the New Universe, and brings the Star Brand back with him
* Marvel Comics comics characters travel to the Ultraverse, and vice versa
* Solar meets Void of WildC.A.T.S. ("Deathmate")
*Superman was controlled by Skeletor and fought He-Man in issue#47 of DC Comics Presents
* Batman meets The Darkness ("The Darkness/Batman") Note that Jackie Estracado frequently mentions this event, implying that the Top Cow universe has its own version of Batman and Gotham City, rather than the official DC Universe version.
* Batman meets The Spanish Inquisition.
* The Green Hornet and his sidekick, Kato, appeared on a 2-part episode of Batman.
* The Green Hornet and Kato also appeared in a cameo episode of Batman as themselves; in another episode, Batman and Robin have to leave for the Batcave after setting down to watch The Green Hornet TV show (apparently an in-joke).
* Invincible joins Spider-Man in Marvel Team-Up #14.
* Green Lantern Kyle Rayner met Marvel's Silver Surfer in a crossover where they fought Parallax (Hal Jordan). ("Green Lantern/Silver Surfer #1")
* Ash of the Evil Dead series battles Marvel's superhero zombies. (Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness).
* The Crossover Wars: A huge number of webcomics defend their respective 'worlds' against the characters of Evil Overlords United.
* Sonic Super Special #7 (features Savage Dragon, Spawn, the Maxx, Shadowhawk)
* DC Comics once made a four-part series where the DC Superheroes meet the Looney Tunes.

Novels

* There is a single shared scene between "Drowned Hopes" by Donald E. Westlake, and "32 Cadillacs " by Joe Gores. In each book, the viewpoint character is a character from that book and sees the characters from the other book as unknown people briefly encountered.
* In "Final Notice" by Joe Gores, the character Parker from Donald E. Westlake's Parker series appears, apparently in the planning stages of "Plunder Squad".
* Michel Tremblay's cast of Main Street characters appear in several of his Montreal-based novels.
* Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys (both of which were owned by Stratemeyer Syndicate) first appeared together in 1978 in "The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries" TV show, and three years later, in 1981 they appeared in a novel together for the first time, untitled "Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys Super Slueths!". Since then there have been numerous crossovers between Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, most notably in the 1988 young adult novel seres, "Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Supermystery" and currently in the new "Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys Super Mystery" series. In 1992, the Hardy Boys teamed up with another Stratemeyer Syndicate character, Tom Swift for a short lived two volume crossover series, untitled "Hardy Boys and Tom Swift Ultra Thriller.

Video games

* Tomb Raider meets Witchblade and The Darkness, and assists in reviving Butcher Knight (Top Cow comics)
*Django and Otenko from "Boktai" appear in "Mega Man Battle Network 4" and "Mega Man Battle Network 6"
* MegaMan.EXE and ShadeMan.EXE from the "Mega Man Battle Network" series appear in ""
* Master Hand, the prime antagonist of the "Super Smash Bros." series, appears as a mini-boss and later as a boss in "Kirby & the Amazing Mirror" However, some fans claims that he appeared in Kirby games prior to "Super Smash Bros." as a nameless menu cursor. Also, Super Smash Bros. was made by the same company that made games featuring Kirby, Hal Laboratories.
* Link, Heihachi, and Spawn appear in Soul Calibur II and come from "other dimensions" searching for Soul Edge. However, only one of the three appears in each version of the game, so they do not meet each other.
* Darth Vader and Yoda from Star Wars appear in the video game Soul Calibur IV.
* Namco × Capcom for the Playstation 2 is a Crossover/RPG game featuring Multiple Capcom and Namco characters that are brought together due to a dimensional rift.
* Nintendo's character Wario has appeared in a crossover game with Bomberman, and had a cameo appearance in Densetsu no Stafy 3.
* Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe for the Xbox 360 and PS3 is a crossover fighting game which will contain characters from both the Mortal Kombat franchise and DC Comics universe.
* Itadaki Street DS, the latest installment in Square-Enix's Itadaki Street series, is a crossover/party game starring Mario characters and characters from the Dragon Quest universe.
* In the Kingdom Hearts series, there are Disney and Final Fantasy characters in the game. Most of the worlds are from Disney movies, such as "The Lion King" and "".
* In 1996, Capcom created the Marvel vs. Capcom fighting games in which Capcom characters face off against Marvel characters in tag team matches. Capcom's rival, SNK, made their own set of crossover games for their Neo-Geo platforms: The SNK vs. Capcom series However, despite Capcom making the crossover arcade fighting game, , SNK was the first to start that crossover in 1999 with the game on the Neo-Geo Pocket Color handheld gaming system.
* Characters from SNK's various fighting games, including "Athena", "Psycho Soldier", "Ikari Warriors", "Art of Fighting", and "Fatal Fury", appear in "The King of Fighters" series.
* Sonic the Hedgehog and the Knothole Village Freedom Fighters meet the superhero characters of Image Comics in a Sonic Super Special issue
* Sonic the Hedgehog of SATAM Fame and Archie Comics meets the characters of Sonic Underground in a Sonic Super Special issue
* Sonic The Hedgehog and Princess Sally Acorn meet the cast of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, in a 2-part crossover beginning in an issue of Archie Comics Sabrina comic series, and ending in a Sonic Super Special (that, along with the entire Sonic comic series and its spinoffs, are also published by Archie Comics).
* Multiple Nintendo and third party video game characters exist in Video Land, including Mega Man, Simon Belmont, Pit (erroneously referred to as Kid Icarus), Eggplant Wizard, Mother Brain, King Hippo, and Link ("").
* Multiple Mario characters competing against each other in sports and bringing Pac-Man (Mario Kart Arcade GP) and Final Fantasy (Mario Hoops 3-on-3) characters.
* The presence of Aiai from "Super Monkey Ball", Ulala from "Space Channel 5", and Nights from "Nights into Dreams..." in "Sonic Riders".
* Most games developed by Nippon Ichi have characters fight, or at least encounter, other first-party characters in optional side quests. Examples of this include Marjorly (main antagonist from ), Baal and Priere (optional boss and heroine from ) appearing in the original , and Endorf (Walnut from Phantom Brave) and Asagi (first appeared in ) appearing in Soul Cradle.
* Multiple fighting game characters (currently "Street Fighter", "Mortal Kombat", and "Tekken") are pitted against each other ("Epic Battles").
* DreamMix TV World Fighters features characters from Takara, Hudson Soft, and Konami, fighting against each other in Smash Bros. esque matches. Before Super Smash Bros. Brawl, this was Solid Snake's debut in a fighting game, but as a secret character.
* Ganbraion's Jump Super Stars series on the Nintendo DS and 8ing/Q Entertainment's Battle Stadium D.O.N features Shounen Jump characters facing off against each other in a Smash Bros. esque matches.
* Nicktoons Unite! is a Nickelodeon crossover featuring the shows Spongebob Squarepants, The Fairly OddParents, , and Danny Phantom. A sequel was made which included 3 of the 4 shows. * Characters from KOEI franchises Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors meet in the crossover title Warriors Orochi, where they work together to defeat Orochi who, according to the game's canon, caused the cross-over.

* During the 1997 November sweeps period, an episode of "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" had her making a time ball to travel back to the 1960s, which was stolen by Salem, who ran away, forcing Sabrina to follow him into all the other TGIF shows at the time, including "Boy Meets World", which was sent back to the day after the Pearl Harbor attack; "You Wish", which was sent back to the 1950s; and "Teen Angel", where Sabrina finally caught Salem and flirted with the title character.
* "Cross Epoch" is the title of a "Dragon Ball Z" crossover with "One Piece".
* Various Nintendo characters fight each other in the Super Smash Bros. series.
* Disney characters and Final Fantasy characters coexisting in the Kingdom Hearts series. However, the setting of this particular crossover can be seen as a whole different reality from Disney canon and the Final Fantasy universe, because of the story mainly focusing on original characters, such as Sora, Riku, and Kairi.
* In the non-canon "Family Guy" episode, Lois Kills Stewie, which turned out to be a simulation along with the previous episode, Stewie Griffin attempts to hack into the power grid at the CIA in a plan for world domination, only to be confronted by Stan Smith and Avery Bullock from "American Dad!", who have no choice but to give in to Stewie's demands to be "President of the World." Even though none of the events of the two-parter really happened, many consider this to be the first "Family Guy"/"American Dad!" crossover. Both shows were created by Seth MacFarlane.
* On the Season 1 DVD set of "My Name Is Earl", there's a mini-episode called "Bad Karma", which is an alternate version of the pilot episode. Instead of being talked into karma by Carson Daly, Earl is talked into taking vengeance on those who did him wrong by Stewie Griffin from "Family Guy". Both series are produced by 20th Century Fox Television, and "My Name is Earl" creator Greg Garcia was once a consulting producer on "Family Guy".

Dream sequence

A character comes into contact with another character through imagery, dreams, visions, etc. The crossover itself does not occur, but the idea of the crossover might occur.

* In 2001, select cast members of "The Young And The Restless" crossed over to "The King of Queens". In an episode of the Kevin James sitcom, Doug Heffernan (James) dreams about the series. His wife Carrie (Leah Remini) dumps Doug for Jack Abbott, and Arthur Spooner (Jerry Stiller) searches for a secret antiaging cream that Nikki Newman has in her possession. This dream took place on the Y&R set at "Crimson Lights".
* Doogie Howser appeared in Roseanne's dream on "Roseanne" when she went to the hospital for a breast reduction.
* On an episode of "Wings", Crystal Bernard's character fantasizes about being Marcia Brady, with the other Brady Kids being played by the actors from "The Brady Bunch Movie".
* On Day By Day in 1989, Ross Harper(played by Christopher Daniel Barnes) dreams he's Chuck Brady, one of Mike and Carol Brady's kids on The Brady Bunch. * Mojo Jojo appears as an unimaginary friend in the pilot episode of "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends"
* Dr. Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) from "Ghostbusters" makes an appearance running from the haunted house in "Casper".

* Tim Taylor plays with a Buzz Lightyear (the character he voices in "Toy Story") doll on "Home Improvement".
* In Part 3 of "Eddie Monster" ("Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends"), towards the end, Ed, Edd n Eddy can be seen learning about the monster that looks like Pikachu from the boy that looks like Dexter.
* In the final two episodes of Mobile Fighter G Gundam, machines from all the previous Gundam series, the then in-production Gundam Wing, and other mecha series by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino appear among the forces battling the monstrous Devil Gundam.
* In one episode of "Gundam X", Roybea uses his vacation time to visit his former girlfriends. One of them looks, sounds, and acts almost exactly like Relena Peacecraft, the protagonist of the previous Gundam series, Gundam Wing.
* One of the most bizarre cameos ever was when Cartoon Network's Johnny Bravo appeared on a poster in Atari's computer game Backyard Baseball 2005.
* "Dexter" appears on "Time Squad", commenting on time travel to Buck and Larry 3000.
* "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" have made numerous crossovers with each other. In one episode of Family Guy ("PTV"), character Stewie Griffin ran over Homer Simpson in his big wheel. In Simpsons' episode "The Italian Bob", Homer sees pictures of Peter Griffin and Stan Smith (of fellow Seth Macfarlane cartoon "American Dad") in a book of criminals (Peter and Stan are labeled as plagiarists). In the "Simpsons" episode "Treehouse of Horror XIII", Homer accidentally creates millions of clones of himself, one of which happens to be Peter Griffin. These, however, are less friendly crossovers than subtle shots at each other, due to creative clashes between the staff of each said show.
* The Japanese manga "Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo" occasionally features characters from other manga (i.e. the famous Yugi and Osiris scene).
* "The Simpsons" was referenced in the episode of "South Park" titled "Simpsons Already Did It"; "South Park" episode #86.
* "Family Guy" is also referenced on "South Park"; episode #142, "Cartoon Wars Part I" and "Cartoon Wars Part II", #143. A character resembling Bart Simpson is also seen at the FOX network studio on Part II.
* In "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" a cameo shows a rescue squad—The Three Stooges.
* In the "Batman" TV series, Alfred the Butler looks at a computer file of "dangerous criminals"—one photograph is of Howie Horowitz and another photograph is of William Dozier-the series executive producers. (The last episode also had Dozier appearing in a cameo appearance and there was a reference to Howie Horowitz money being stolen from his "TV" set)
* In "Batman", Kent McCord has a cameo as a naive Gotham City rookie policeman who wants to give Batman's Batmobile a ticket for illegal parking.
* Robert Patrick, who played the T-1000 in "", appears in the movie "Wayne's World" as a cop, appearing the same way he did in "T-2". He stops Wayne and shows him a photo asking, "Have you seen this boy?", to which Wayne screams and drives away. The cop then starts walking like he did in T-2.
* In an episode of "The A-Team", H. M. Murdock appears on "Wheel of Fortune" and not only wins a car but goes on a Hawaiian vacation (instead of Face).
* In "The Simpsons" episode Sideshow Bob Roberts, Sideshow Bob pins a 'GOP' (Republican Party) button on Bart and then kicks him out of his limo onto the front lawn. A jalopy with the Archie gang (Archie, Jughead, Reggie, and Big Moose) then kicks Homer out onto the front lawn.
* In an episode of Drawn Together, Peter Griffin walks by and puts a quarter into the empty cup of a depressed Wooldoor Sockbat, much to the annoyance of Lois, who says that "He'll just go and spend it on lemonade!"
* On a cartoon teaser of an early episode of "The Simpsons" "Treehouse of Horror II", the costumed trick-or-treaters passing by the Simpson house is the Peanuts gang.

* In "The Curse of Monkey Island", if you can get Guybrush to walk in the water on Blood Island, you can see him and his character in the first part underwater. New Guybrush doesn't seem to recognize the old one, because he already drowned.
