Gregory Thomas García (born
April 4 1970 ), is a Americantelevision producer andteleplay writer. He was the creator/executive producer on the long-runningsitcom , "Yes, Dear " and is currently the creator/executive producer of theEmmy Award winning "My Name Is Earl " (and has made two cameo appearances on the show thus far). He has also worked for the series "Family Matters" and as a consulting producer on "Family Guy ".García grew up in Arlington, Virginia, graduated from Yorktown High School, and attended
Frostburg State University inFrostburg, Maryland and participated in theWarner Bros. "Writing for Television" courses, which ultimately opened the door for him as a writer inHollywood . While at Frostburg he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) FraternityGarcía worked as a board operator for
the Tony Kornheiser Show onWTEM radio. He was also briefly an intern and recurring character on the syndicated "Don and Mike " radio show.García and his wife Kim together have three children.
García has been incorrectly labled as a Scientologist, as many in the "Earl" cast are members of the church, after reports in the "
