Avon (formerly, Associated and Marsh)^[2] is an unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, California. It is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east-northeast of Martinez,^[2] at an elevation of 10 feet (3 m).

A post office operated at Avon from 1912 to 1960.^[2] It was originally called Marsh, and in 1913 the name was changed to Associated.^[2] The name Marsh was in honor of John Marsh.^[2] The name Associated was for the Tidewater Associated Oil Company, owner of the site.^[2]
