The Directorate-General for Home Affairs is a Directorate-General of the European Commission. It was formed 1 July 2010, when the former Directorate-General for Justice, Freedom and Security was split into the Directorate-General for Home Affairs and the Directorate-General Justice.

The director-general is Stefano Manservisi.

Structure

The former Directorate-General for Justice, Freedom and Security was organised into 26 units, which are divided over five directorates:

  • Directorate A: General Affairs
  • Directorate B: Immigration and Asylum
  • Directorate C: Migration and Borders
  • Directorate D: Fundamental Rights and Citizenship
  • Directorate E: Justice
  • Directorate F: Security
