According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 310 people, 120 households, and 87 families residing in the town. The population density was 360.6 people per square mile (139.2/km2). There were 137 housing units at an average density of 159.4 per square mile (61.5/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.10% White, 2.26% Native American, and 0.65% from two or more races. 0.65% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 120 households out of which 36.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.8% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.08.
In the town the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 11.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 90.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.2 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $32,125, and the median income for a family was $35,000. Males had a median income of $23,500 versus $18,438 for females. The per capita income for the town was $14,052. About 1.1% of families and 7.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.3% of those under the age of eighteen and 21.1% of those sixty five or over.
