It was originally a Missouri Pacific Railroad station and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1992.
Of the five Arkansas stations served by Amtrak, Walnut Ridge was the third busiest in FY2010, boarding or detraining an average of approximately 13 passengers daily.[2]
