The two main shareholders, Groupe Caisse d'Epargne and Banque Populaire, together own more than 70% of Natixis while the remaining float is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange.
On December 15, 2008, Natixis revealed that it had lost more than US$450 million in the Madoff investment scandal on Wall Street—the largest Ponzi scheme in history.
Natixis provide financial data for the 'Markets' section on the news channel, Euronews. On October 26th 2010, Natixis Global Asset Management (NGAM) has acquired a majority stake in asset management start-up ‘Ossiam’.[2]
Operations

- Asset Management Natixis Asset Management is the 14th largest asset management firm in the world with $630 billion in assets under management.
- Private Equity & Private Banking Natixis Private Banking unit includes Banque Privée 1818.
- Services Business lines include insurance, securities, financial guarantees, and consumer finance.
- Receivables Management (offered through its Coface subsidiary). Coface deals in risk analysis, supporting corporates in account receivables.
