NDTV 24x7 won the Asian Television Award for Best News Programme in 2005.
It's often regarded as the best news channel in India. Content either in web and in air mostly focuses issues and caters the need of emerging number of English language known upper-middle and middle class Indians, who are in the band of surging consumerism.
NDTV 24x7 is home to a team of award winning journalists who spearhead the news campaign, including Dr. Prannoy Roy, Vikram A Chandra and Barkha Dutt.
NDTV 24x7 is also available outside of India, broadcasting in the UK on the Sky platform, in the U.S. on the DirecTV platform, in Canada on the ATN platform, in Australia on the Vision Asia platform, in Europe on the WorldTV platform, and in Singapore on the mio TV platform.
The channel is noted for it's coverage of the Kashmir conflict, Naxalite-Maoist insurgency and rural poverty in India.

Programming
The news channel also has many other extra-news programmes like The Big Fight and We the People, which are highly popular. The channel continues to produce original content such as documentaries and special reports. The channel airs one of India's most successful opinion-based shows: We the People with Barkha Dutt. The show has received critical acclaim and has won several key awards. Another very popular show is hosted on NDTV 24x7 called The Big Fight hosted by Vikram Chandra (the show was earlier hosted by Rajdeep Sardesai, who quit NDTV in 2005 to start CNN-IBN). The Car & Bike Show with Siddharth Vinayak Patankar is also a very avidly watched and followed programme. Gadget Guru, on the other hand, is one of the first and most popular gadget shows on Indian Television hosted by Rajiv Makhni and[sometimes with] Vikram Chandra.
In October 2007, the channel started a new series - Documentary 24x7 that features path-breaking documentaries that explore contemporary issues.
Criticism
Many critics and politicians have accused the channel of having a bias towards the political left at the expense of neutrality. It is known to have a political bias and a soft corner towards the Indian National Congress and being biased against the Bharatiya Janata Party.
