IBN Lokmat is a Marathi-language news channel based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is a joint venture between Network 18 and the Lokmat Group. [ [http://in.rediff.com/money/2007/jun/14tv18.htm TV 18, Lokmat in JV to launch Marathi news channel] ]

IBN Lokmat was launched on 6 April 2008, the Gudi Padwa day. The channel is headed by Nikhil Wagle, a veteran Marathi journalist and former editor of Marathi daily Apla Mahanagar. The channel has 9 bureaus across the state of Maharashtra.

the channel has grabbed huge success in a very short time span. it is known as the best marathi news channel. the is dream of renown journalist 'Raajdeep Sardesai.' he is specially contributing his valuable time in framing channel strategy. as the channel is headed by one of the most famous and fearless journalist in the history of Marathi journalism 'Nikhil Wagle', the channel is working like a maverick and creating it's own path than following trails.

the channel is moreover dedicated to serious and core journalism than sensationalizing issues for the sake of TRP. in the first week itself channel has raised a question of 'Ujalamb' gaon, where Dalits were not allowed to enter the temple. the issue has been covered from all the angles and after interference of home minister, Maharashtra State- 'R.R. Patil' the dalits finally got their rights. similarly they handled the issue of 'Mumbai-Pune highway traffic-jam', where many children were about to miss the exams without their fault. the channel also broadcasted a session over interview of 'Chota Rajan'- most wanted criminal and analysis of the interview is pretended to be a fine example of investigative journalism.
