Mursan is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in Mahamaya Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Mursan was a state located in the Hathras (Mahamaya Nagar) district. The most well-known ruler of this estate was the Jat nobleman, Raja Mahendra Pratap (1886-1979), who was popularly known as Aryan Peshwa. The third son of Raja Ghansyam Singh, he was adopted by Raja Harnarayan Singh of Hathras.

Mahendra Pratap married a lady from a Sikh family based in the princely state of Jind in Haryana.

Demographics

As of 2001^[update] India census^[1], Mursan had a population of 11,550. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Mursan has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 46%. In Mursan, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
