Nanakramguda temple Location Country: India State: Andhra Pradesh Location: Hyderabad Architecture and culture Primary deity: Ranganatha Architectural styles: South Indian Nanakramguda temple or Sri Ranganadha swamy temple is a 400 year old Ranganatha temple located at Nanakramguda, near Manikonda in Hyderabad.[1] It is located at Rangbagh in Nanakramguda, which is ~ 15 km from Mehedipatnam. It is surrounded by various IT companies and upcoming financial companies facilities in the Manikonda Financial district. The temple has serene and calm atmosphere.
Contents
History
The temple was built around 1600 A.D. The temple and its surrounding lands were purchased by Seth Shivalal Pitti in the year 1861. It was a part of the private property of the Pitti family till 1954. Now it is under a trust belonging to the Pitti family.
The Temple
At the entrance of the temple, a big wooden door and a flag-mast with brass covering. The main deity Shree Ranganadha swamy, is in relaxing position and is carved from a single black stone. One can see incarnations of Dasavataram i.e. 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu depicted nearby.
The annual Brahmotsavam is celebrated and festivity statues are taken around in various chariots.
