Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar or SR Nagar for short is predominantly a residential suburb in Hyderabad, India. It is close to Ameerpet, a commercial suburb. It is named after the sixth President of India, Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy. The area is being a residential area has a good number of trees and good environment. SR Nagar almost joins with Sanathnagar, though it maintains a distinct culture. SR Nagar is a road junction connecting to the Bombay-Pune highway. Located here is the well known statue of Umesh Chandra, a famous defence personnel who lost his life here, during an encounter with criminals.

Economy

Since the area is predominantly a residential suburb, commercial activity is less. There are a few shopping malls here. This suburb thrives on a number of educational institutes, which gave prominence to this place. Famous restaurants have opened up recently here such as the Hyderabad House, Bowl O' China etc. A well known hospital called the Nature Cure Hospital close by at Balkampet. Local shops providing groceries and bakeries are scattered all over this suburb. Reliance Fresh, a vegetable cum supermarket store also has its oulet located here.

Education

Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar is predominantly known for its educational institutes. Many Intermediate colleges and coaching centers are present here namely, Vikas group, Sri Chaitanya, Royal college, Kakatiya, Narayana, Gautami, Gowtham etc. Since this suburb also merges with the software training hub Ameerpet, it also has a few software training institutes.

Residential area

SR Nagar being predominantly a residential area has well planned roads and a good number of independent houses. Recently the real estate boom has caught up here with a growing number of apartments. The area also has recreational facilities such playgrounds and a muncipal park.

Transport

SR Nagar is a road junction connecting to the Bombay-Pune highway. The buses run by APSRTC connect Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar with all parts of the city. The closest MMTS Train station is at Nature Cure Hospital.
