This suburb has boomed lately because of the presence of many software companies that started here.

Development

Manikonda is the site of significant commercial and residential development. The area is sought after for its posh locale. Several software professionals who work at Gatchibowli and Hi-tec City are purchasing flats and land in Manikonda. The area's infrastructure, shopping and entertainment are on the upswing. The roads leading to Manikonda are one from Darga via OU Colony and the other from Sheikpet via Sports complex and filter beds.

Commercial areas

Close shopping options include Jubilee Hills, Kondapur and Gachibowli. Manikonda-Puppalaguda is considered as the costliest Panchayat in India.

Transport

It is connected by APSRTC buses that run from Mehdipatnam.

The closest MMTS Train station is at HITEC City.

Schools

There are no schools in this suburb, but Gachibowli has some good schools.
