The Parker Tapes

Released in 2005, Dead Horse is the second studio album (as opposed to Compilation album) by Cassetteboy released by Barry's Bootlegs, and is the follow-up to The Parker Tapes. Based on the phrase "Flogging a Dead Horse", the album consists of painstakingly selected samples taken from TV, radio, film and popular music and made into satirical or amusing new material (a genre called Plunderphonics).

The album contains tracks on Jeremy Clarkson & David Attenborough, as well as mash-up's of The Streets, The Da Vinci Code & Harry Potter. It is said that Cassetteboy only produce new tracks in the run-up to live shows, and so such material forms the basis of this album. As a result the album lacks a central theme (unlike Inside A Whale's Cock Vol 1 or Carry On Breathing).[1]

Track listing

Cassetteboy don't tend to name songs/mixes after their contents (e.g. Hey Jude by The Beatles is named after the main chorus lyric of "Hey Jude"). As a result, here is a track listing (with some detail to distinguish what the track is about):

1. 'Yeah Scabbard': Introductory track.
