The agency is usually referred to by its initials UDOT (pronounced "you-dot"). UDOT is charged with maintaining the network of state highways in Utah. The agency is headquartered in the Calvin L. Rampton state office complex in Taylorsville. [1]
The current Executive Director is John Njord, his deputy is Carlos Braceras. [2]
Structure
UDOT maintains over 6,000 miles (9,700 km) of highways.[1] While the agency has field offices throughout the state, for organizational purposes they are grouped into 4 regions.[3]
- Region 1 - Ogden. This region covers Davis County, Weber County, Morgan County, Box Elder County, Cache County and Rich County
- Region 2 - Salt Lake City. This region covers Salt Lake County
- Region 3 - Orem. This region covers Juab County, Utah County (except for a portion of the US-6 and SR-96 corridors), Wasatch County, Duchesne County, Uintah County and Daggett County.
- Region 4 - Richfield. This Region covers Sanpete County, Sevier County, Piute County, Wayne County, Garfield County, Kane County, Millard County, Beaver County, Iron County, Washington County, a portion of Utah County, Carbon County, Emery County, Grand County and San Juan County[2]
