Coeymans is a community in the southeastern part of the Town of Coeymans. The hamlet is located on Route 144.

Geography
Coeymans is located at 42°28′20″N 73°47′37″W / 42.47222°N 73.79361°W (42.472431, -73.793867)[1].
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.2 km²), of which, 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) of it (10.66%) is water.
Coeymans is on the west bank of the Hudson River.
Demographics
As of the census[2] of 2000, there are 835 people, 313 households, and 215 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 764.3 per square mile (295.8/km²). There are 354 housing units at an average density of 324.0/sq mi (125.4/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 91.50% White, 4.19% Black or African American, 0.36% Native American, 0.36% Asian, 2.28% from other races, and 1.32% from two or more races. 6.11% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 313 households out of which 39.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.2% are married couples living together, 20.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.3% are non-families. 26.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.61 and the average family size is 3.15.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 31.6% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 91.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 79.0 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $34,440, and the median income for a family is $44,554. Males have a median income of $41,250 versus $27,125 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $16,212. 9.0% of the population and 9.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 11.1% of those under the age of 18 and 17.6% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
