Loudonville, New York

Loudonville is a hamlet located in the town of Colonie, Albany County, New York, in the USA.

Siena College, a liberal arts college, is located in the hamlet.

History

The hamlet, formerly named Ireland's Corners, is named after John Campbell, 4th Earl of Loudoun.

Geography

The community is located in the Capital Region. It is directly north of Albany, New York. Route 9 runs through the heart of Loudonville, with traditional and quite historic houses on either side.

Law and Government

Colonie Town Hall, the William K. Sanford Library, one of Albany, NY's reservoirs, and the North Colonie School District offices are located in Loudonville.

Demographics

Loudonville is largely an upper middle class community. Property values are generally higher than those of surrounding areas. Fact|date=August 2008
